Advertisement Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 Hi kiwidad, Take a look here Lens pouches for small lenses . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
newtoleica Posted September 7, 2024 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2024 Yes. Old Olympus OM leather pouches from the 80s - widely available ob eBay and perfect.
Ecar Posted September 7, 2024 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2024 Anything neoprene goes AFAIC. Small Optechs are good, but there are plenty more. I'd just avoid leather - according to one of the well-known technicians I deal with, "you don't want to wrap your lenses in the skin of a dead cow and risk fungus, no matter how well it's been cleaned/sterilized (or not)". I know, I know, leather is what manufacturers, including Leica, ship(ped) their lenses in, but...
Mute-on Posted September 7, 2024 Share #4 Posted September 7, 2024 (edited) Etsumi extra thick neoprene lens pouches (and other sizes up to M with mounted lens, and larger) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BH8RY4Y5?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details I purchased one in Japan a few years ago. I located them on Amazon and just purchased a few more. Very compelling protection. Edited September 7, 2024 by Mute-on
Lee S Posted September 7, 2024 Share #5 Posted September 7, 2024 (edited) I just put my lenses in nylon socks and fold the tip back on itself and shove in my pocket/bag. 🫣 Very compact, Ecar’s post got me worrying about fungus now. 😂 Edited September 7, 2024 by Lee S 1
spydrxx Posted September 7, 2024 Share #6 Posted September 7, 2024 Any jeweler's fabric pouches. Avoid leather, no matter how attractive it may seem...it doesn't allow air flow, hence contributes to fungal growth by retaining moisture.

fotografr Posted September 7, 2024 Share #8 Posted September 7, 2024 I use the cloth pouches that hold the various items that ship with Leica cameras. They aren't a perfect fit but they do keep the dust out.
kkm Posted September 7, 2024 Share #9 Posted September 7, 2024 I‘m using pouches from Lens Aid: https://www.lens-aid.de/products/objektivtasche-zipper-dicker-polsterung
Xavier Posted September 7, 2024 Share #10 Posted September 7, 2024 I have purchased several kinds of Neoprene pouches (like those mentioned above). However, I do not find any that fits properly with the smaller lenses. Typically, smaller sizes are ok for my CV 75/1.9, but even the smallest ones are too big for the 28/2.8. The issue is that the sets of Neoprene pouches seem usually sized for SLR lenses. If anyone sees a set specially designed for L lenses, I would be very interested. lct Posted September 7, 2024 Share #11 Posted September 7, 2024 FWIW Jo Geier i have no connections with provide free pouches with s/h lenses they sell on eBay. Tiny ones for the smaller ltm lenses and medium size ones for M lenses like Summicron 35 or 50.
graphlex Posted September 7, 2024 Share #12 Posted September 7, 2024 The leather pouches Leica is using (for 35 apo, e.g.) are so poorly made I’d prefer a cloth pouch like the one for the Steel Rim.
lct Posted September 7, 2024 Share #13 Posted September 7, 2024 (edited) My 20+ Leica leather pouches are well made and i'm still using those from the eighties. I don't travel with them though TBH. Edited September 7, 2024 by lct

The 'usual' ones are great for protecting against scuffing when extra lenses are being carried in a camera bag. The very small ones are perfect for spare batteries. Philip. Anbaric Posted September 8, 2024 Share #15 Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) The Zing Design neoprene pouches are my favourites, better made than the generic pouches from Amazon or ebay. Maybe the small drawstring pouch or the small belt bag in this case. They are now hard to find here in the UK, but B&H stock them in the US. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/75801-REG/Zing_Designs_560_102_SPB1_Small_Drawstring_Pouch.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/75800-REG/Zing_Designs_560_106_SPB1_Small_Drawstring_Pouch.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/92404-REG/Zing_Designs_570_111_SPE_Small_Camera_Electronics_Belt.html Edited September 8, 2024 by Anbaric
Robert Blanko Posted September 8, 2024 Share #16 Posted September 8, 2024 Lowepro pouch Dashpoint 10 is well-suited. Can be combined with a belt and safely secured with an extra snap hook. https://www.photopoint.ee/en/bags-cases-and-straps/369553-lowepro-pouch-dashpoint-10-grey#product-info_tab I usually carry 3-4 of my lenses in such pouches on a heavy duty tactical belt when I go on hiking trips. plimsoll1 Posted September 8, 2024 Share #18 Posted September 8, 2024 I use JJC neoprene pouches from Amazon. They're reasonably priced, come in a variety of sizes, and work well, without being too bulky.

Especially leather. It’s just to protect in a bag.
