Why did you ask this question?  Are you interested in alternative gear?  I went with the Hasselblad X2D, but my needs are limited and so is the Hasselblad “alliance”.

Do what I did before SL came out.  Use Canon 1 series cameras and L series lenses for sports, birds and other animals, Leica M for landscapes most travel and family, Canon 5 series when limited to one lens.   SL series largely replaces the Leica M and Canon 5 series.

If SL system did not exist, I’d be using canon for most everything “normal” with hassy x2d for special projects.  Zero desire to shoot Leica M without ibis.

Nikon a close second but their viewfinders are lackluster.  The whole reason I went mirrorless was sl2 viewfinder.  I find all other brands still behind Leica for this even if specs are similar…

zero desire to shoot Sony or Fuji based on UI, controls and build.  

so I’ll just stay super happy with my sl2 and sl2-s cameras and those amazing apo lenses… I’m very happy Leica brought out the SL series.

Hasselblad X2D with XCD 39mm and 90mm lenses would be my choice, although I am in the process of building a second system based around Pentax K3iii and K1ii bodies.

I read the headline as if the SL line didn’t exist at all, either alone or as part of the alliance. The Leicaflex SL was of course a different camera.

CL, TL. Both great options.

My point is they DO exist. The headline just might be another attempt at an alternative because the SL line is not affordable or isn’t liked.

The SL is already my secondary system. For things my X2D doesn't do. Long lenses. Continuous AF. I didn't enjoy the current Canon offerings so either what I already have which is A1,A7R5, A7CR or something I'd like to  try, the Nikon Z8. I'd go the GFX except there's no super tele zooms like a 100 to 400.

Likely what I have because the 20-70 and 70-200f4 is a potent travel combo with the A7CR. Add an A1 with200-600. This is basically what I replaced with my SL3'S.
