If you now only use iPhone 15 (and the camera on the 16 is supposed to be much better) why are you still active on a camera forum?  Not criticising, as all opinions and contributions are welcome, just curious.

the 16 pro max is only better for video , no needs to upgrade my 15 pro max

I am not anymore active here , as I said I may be interested by a Q3 mono

Ah yes, the iPhone, so comfortable to use with one hand, especially in winter. Take iPhone from pocket, remove your gloves, remove your scarf if you want to use Face ID, turn it horizontally, tap to focus. Terrific user experience.
I prefer to squeeze my nose and use the Q or any other cameras, and use the phone occasionally for the non-essential shot.

its up to each one , but not sure what you mean  by  essential shot

You are aware that a Q3 mono would have the EVF in the same location as Q3.

I guess you are not aware that 96.73% or all arguments on the Leica forum* occur when the force of reason meets human irrationality. Which demonstrates that the human animal is incapable of learning by experience (that an argument between reason and irrationality is never won or lost).
I am usually to be found on both sides of such arguments.

*and all internet forums for that matter.

Isn't it important to have photographers who use iPhones and A7CRs in the mix to keep the rest of us from too much navel gazing? Otherwise we might think Leica HDR/AI or AF is state of the art, just as Sony and Apple forums benefit from Leica user perspective.

My right eye does work and it used to be good enough to pass my racing licence medical until I gave my licence up in 2012 due to arthritis problems with my neck and back, it just is no longer dominant. The only time this has given me problems is clay pigeon shooting. If I am having a very left eye dominant day, I could not hit a Zeppelin at 20 metres, shooting from my right shoulder. On a day when my right eye decides to work better (rarely), I can shoot well enough to win the Lloyds Clay Pigeon Cup one year, with a perfect 100/100 score, which astonished everyone, me included.

I'm imaging a Q sized body with an S sized sensor of 100 megapixels or so, the 43mm lens would make sense as that is roughly 35mm field of view with that sized sensor. Then imagine the cropping possibilities with a sensor that size and that many megapixels to play with - dreamy!
😁

a interesting thought: a pancake 43 and a larger sensor. It would be an earthquake. [Maybe 🤭]

There are many people who left the Wetzlar 35mm FF world for the Fuji 55X even fuller frame world. True 43mm wide and 33mm high.

  • Is that a Q3 43 a reference to the lens mm or to the sensor size? 43 - a reference - To the first numerals of a larger sensor?
  • In a small package?
  • Enough power to use in real ambient light? To use in the street and for people shots?

Try it when it is pooring down…

Looks like USB-C microphones are working with Q3 43, (although I’m not sure I’d ever use this camera for video.) I’m still not convinced about the aesthetic choice of the gray leatherette.

Great intro video to see.  I love the gray leather…can’t wait.  Also can’t wait to see images from the combo.

i also noticed the new packaging.  I don’t have a Q3 28 so I’m not sure if the packaging is the same as this.  My Q2 packaging was different.

All I'm seeing is a grey box with a message saying "this video is private"  How do I view it?

Never mind - we posted at the same time.

I notice the introduction of the 43 by Nick Rains of Australia on You Tube, was taken down at about 9.15pm as I was half way through watching it 😕

I saw it. I can confirm it looks like what was shown in this thread. No images taken with the camera where shown though. But I guess, the Q3 43 is a fact.

The entire video was shot on a Q3 43, at one point he films this second Q3 43 to show a wireless mic connected via USB-C working with the camera. I’m not surprised video was taken down, even though he’s in Australia it’s still a few hours left before embargo lifts.
