My M10 was great with focus peeking, especially with a zoomed in image while moving the focus tab. However my M11M doesn't show peeking on a zoomed in image while moving the focus tab. If however while moving the focus tab I turn the back dial to zoom out, then I see the peeking.

Any thoughts?

Use the rangefinder patch. It reliable.

I have no experience with the M11M sorry.
On the M11, i just set sensitivity to high if needed.
Main menu page 4 > Capture Assistants > Info Profiles > Select a profile > Select Focus Peaking > On/Off: On > Sensitivity: High.

thanks I've got it set to high. I think I read somewhere this may be something Leica is aware of and planning to address in the next firmware update.

I’ve set the top button to engage magnification when I use the Visoflex 2.  I want to control when I’m unable to compose.  As far as I understand and this understanding was developed with a different camera system, focus peaking is not as accurate as a good set of eyes and a great viewfinder.  I no longer have a good set of eyes and the Visoflex 2 falls far short of the Sony A7Rv viewfinder, which I previously had.  I would happily pay a few hundred extra for a Visoflex 3 and upgraded viewfinder, but this would necessitate greater processing power and heat dissipation… M14.. maybe.  I don’t believe that the focus peaking would provide superior focus if used when magnified vs the unmagnified view.

Weird! So focus peaking works on your M11M when you zoom out while moving the focus tab, but not when you're zoomed in? Have you double-checked your settings to make sure it's enabled?

yes it's enabled.

I experience oft this problem as I only use the EVF to focus. Other weird things I notice with the focus peaking:

- when magnified 50% it is weaker, oft to the point that I have to zoom all the way down.

- Occasionally the focus peaking becomes green although it is set to blue. I have to zoom one time in or out and everything is back to blue.
