Dude .... Fotos App... No brainer.

I was having a lot of lag with my start up and shut down and playback time, so far it all feels much snappier.  BUT, I also just changed out to a new SD card recommended by my Leica Store here in Los Angeles and reset the whole camera yesterday.  I'm hoping the updated makes the tracking and F-E-B detection a bit better too, but I have to test it.  I'm trying to get off single point focus and recompose but I haven't felt the other modes were are sharp or reliable.  Maybe I'll take my camera to the local dog park today and test out tracking.

It would be useful if Leica stated what has been fixed rather than putting the onus on users to test everything.

Edited to add that whereas in the previous firmware whatever number profile you had set it would show that number on the quick menu next to the person icon, it now doesn't show the number. So, if you make a change to a profile, whereas in the previous firmware version you could tell because the profile number disappeared, you now have no visual indication that you have changed a setting from the ones set in the chosen profile. Nice one Leica, very clever. Fix a big and add one too!

1. I am also not used to new a firmware pdf that doesnt say exactly what has been fixed. Why are we expected to discover this by trial and error?

2. The second paragraph is quite alarming. Can others confirm this behaviour? How else will I know which profile is active???

I instinctively never do updates.  I saw a YouTube on how to do this and the guy said it wipes all your settings and goes back to factory/default mode.  Is this true?

Yes but you can save your settings in a user profile, then export that profile to your SD card.  Update your firmware and import your profile back into your camera.  You should definitely do the firmware update on your Leica, they are always improving their cameras through firmware updates, although sometimes not fast enough for me LOL. :)

Update worked fine through Foto app. Camera seems a lot snappier when turning on compared before firmware update. Unfortunately file naming resets even while I had old photos on card. Last firmware SD card was empty and someone said that causes file naming resetting. User profiles exported and imported after update and all seems fine other than file naming.

Have others found this to be true?

2.05 dors not show what profile you have loaded.

Loaded a saved profile  and going back to profile settings the profile selection goes back to the default setting. Cannot tell what profile I had previously loaded.  I have to set it again to be certain. Anoying.

I reloaded all my profiles after installing the firmware, and sure enough the numbers and names of the profiles are all there.

As are mine. However, before the update if you loaded a saved profile that you have stored in say slot 1 you would see a small number one next to the profile icon on the quick menu. If you made a change to a setting (for example changing the EVF refresh rate) the 1 would disappear and if you changed that setting back to what it was in the saved profile the 1 would reappear.

After the update if you load a profile from a saved slot there is no number shown next to the profile icon, so you have no indication of what profile you have loaded or whether you have made a change to one or more of the settings in that profile.
