I started a thread about the EVF flashing when set to 120Hz and that setting it to 60Hz resolved the issue. I tested again on the new firmware and I noted that the flashing had now stopped when 120Hz is selected. It's strange that you are experiencing the flashing EVF on the new firmware. Still flashing at 120hz for me when stopped down.
Advertisement Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Hi Bryan Goh, Take a look here Q3 new firmware 2.0.5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bryan Goh Posted August 12, 2024 Share #122 Posted August 12, 2024 Not sure if firmware related, but I'm no longer able to connect to the FOTOS app. I believe my wireless chip in the camera has died, tried everything on multiple devices including connecting the cable to establish initial connection before the auto bluetooth pairing starts and fails. Might send it in before the warranty is up, dont use the FOTOS app very often.

DanG Posted August 19, 2024 Share #125 Posted August 19, 2024 I faced another problem after the new firmware update. I updated my Q3 via the Leica PHOTOS app last night. I went on a trip the other day and when I turned on the camera I found that it no longer focused automatically or manually. Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe someone has a solution? Once again, the program does not allow me to update again, it says that such a version is already installed. Also, the camera often hangs and asks to turn it off and on again. Le Chef Posted August 19, 2024 Share #126 Posted August 19, 2024 I would check the lens itself: Is the focus lock on, so you cannot physically move the focus ring? Has the lens gone partially into macro mode without you realizing?
DanG Posted August 19, 2024 Share #127 Posted August 19, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Focus does not work in manual or automatic mode. Also doesn't work in macro mode either.
DanG Posted August 19, 2024 Share #128 Posted August 19, 2024 In manual mode the lens does not focus when the focus ring is rotated.
jaapv Posted August 19, 2024 Share #129 Posted August 19, 2024 Maybe reset to factory settings?
DanG Posted August 20, 2024 Share #130 Posted August 20, 2024 Reset to factory settings does not help. Also, the camera often asks to be turned off and on again.
Le Chef Posted August 20, 2024 Share #131 Posted August 20, 2024 Try a different memory card.

Hit the Menu button and read back all the settings while your experiencing these problems...this might point to the problem.
student Posted August 26, 2024 Share #133 Posted August 26, 2024 I finally built up enough courage to update with the relabelled version on Leica website. Bit of an anticlimax to report. Proceeded as follows: Downloaded the software from Leica website to Macbook Connected the Q3 to Macbook via USB Transferred all images on the SD card to Macbook via USB Transferred the software from Macbook to the SD card inside the Q3 Disconnected the Q3 from the Macbook Shut down the Q3 Restarted the Q3 and chose the software upgrade option. And now the new software is functioning in the Q3 No glitches at all. (The SD card I have been using is the one I purchased with the Q3. It is a "Lexar Professional 300MB/s read and 260MB/s write, 2000x SDXC UHS-II 128GB". I carry a new spare one (64GB) in case the present one ever malfunctions. (PS: I have not checked the one user profile I had in the camera. Photography is a leisure time activity for me and in case the one profile is missing, I could recreate it in a couple of minutes.)
petercomeau Posted September 1, 2024 Share #134 Posted September 1, 2024 Just downloaded 2.05 and updated after copying it to my SD card using an Apple MacBook. No problems here.
Michele Belloni Posted September 3, 2024 Share #135 Posted September 3, 2024 I have noticed a huge improvement in battery lasting... if before the latest firmware I reached 2 hours of intense wedding photography work, now I go for full five hours of continuous shooting. Thanks Leica. I hope to see same things on my SL3 too very soon. 4

SLamb Posted October 1, 2024 Share #137 Posted October 1, 2024 I just read that there is a new firmware update for the one week old Q3 43 which includes the 'Implementation of a protective function to prevent the possible overwriting of existing shots'. If that's true it's unbelievable that the camera was released to the market with the same major issue that had already been fixed in the Q3. Stupidity or laziness? Take your pick, but really unacceptable.

Take your pick, but really unacceptable. There is no stupid laziness, but it is a typical software development process. The firmware was likely finalized before the launch and before the bug was reported. The fix for the recently discovered bug (never reported on Q) was worked in parallel while the launch was ongoing. The fact that the fix was launched a day or two after the launch speaks in Leica's favor.
