Manual_Focus Posted May 5, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) That's the message I get when I drag the download firmware 2.0 update (for Q2M) from my PC DOWNLOAD to the root directory of a freshly formatted SD card. The dragged update firmware shows up in the root directory, but when I put the card in the camera and check the CAMERA INFORMATION it gives me the No Firmware on SD card found and v1.1 still remains as the latest firmware update on my camera. I changed cards with the same result. Any suggestions? UPDATE Deleted original download and redownloaded the firmware update again and repeated the above steps. This time is updated to 2.0 Edited May 5, 2022 by Manual_Focus

I reformated SD card again, put it in card reader of Mac, wait for Adobe bridge to activate and than went through menues - cheque Q1 and Q2. After that I pull the icon of the downloaded file again in main directory of the SD card, and process went through uninterupted. Icon of the Download was coppied to the SD card. Franky Posted May 5, 2022 Share #3 Posted May 5, 2022 Perhaps you formatted the SD card with a Mac. The Leica does not know the Mac file system.

No. it was my PC. I re-downloaded the firmware update again and the new download worked. Go figure.
Aymeric Posted July 9, 2023 Share #5 Posted July 9, 2023 Hi Had the same Issure for firmware 5.0.0 for my Leica Q2 Monochrom. I did the process several time (format sd card in camera, copy downloaded firmware to card, etc.) The solution for me was: Not to "drag" (with the mouse) the file from download files folder to the card but instead to right-click copy in the download folder the file and right click-copy paste on the card the firmware file. After doing the procedure like this, the file was recognized by the camera in the root folder without issue.

SD cards are not formatted with Mac file systems. One uses SD formatter or the camera.

wlaidlaw Posted August 8, 2024 Share #12 Posted August 8, 2024 (edited) Not working for me. Tried with download from French and UK site and, copied to root directory on SD card but get message "no new firmware found" .Will try with different SD card. Didn't work with new card either. There must be a copying error on both French and UK Leica websites. Wilson PS tried with newly formatted SD card using download from home German website and no luck. Still get "not new firmware found' message. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Bgood Posted August 8, 2024 Share #17 Posted August 8, 2024 I downloaded the new firmware to a freshly formatted SD card and also got a message no new firmware found. I tried several times with the same result. However, I was able to download and install the firmware through the Leica FOTOS app. This shakes my confidence in Leica. This is a bug in a fix for a problem (overwriting images) that should never have happened.

Jerryrock Posted August 8, 2024 Share #19 Posted August 8, 2024 (edited) I updated the firmware through the Leica FOTOS app with no problem. The process was automated, asked if I wanted to save user profiles first then updated the firmware. My only input (other than to confirm the process) was to import the user profiles back from the SD card to the camera. I haven’t noticed anything different with firmware 2.0.5. wlaidlaw Posted August 8, 2024 Share #20 Posted August 8, 2024 Sent urgent email to Leica Service UK advising them of the problem. Will try via Fotos. Now trying via Fotos. Currently at stage of transferring FW to camera. It's all a bit Crowdstrike-ish. Wilson
