Bottom right of main screen set it to Aperture mode. Then you should be able to select by lens

That's really weird, I have the 14 Pro and don't have the 135 option. Prefer having the 75 though.

35mm is wide angle. If only the Apple Camera app would always start in the focal length I prefer. I have the wide setting at 1.2x (28mm equivalent), which I prefer to the awkward 35mm equivalent (60 degree angle of view), if only it would come up in a normal 50mm...

 In P mode, Leica LUX does remember the focal length, always comes up as 48mm equivalent, yippee!

Under settings in the app you can set it to "Last Used"

I like the app. But it freezes all the time. Hopefully will correct on a future upgrade.

I use the Aperture mode that lets you select the M lenses. The choices I have are the 28 and 35 1.4, 501.2 and 75 Noctilux.

Wow, all I can focus on with the app is the €79 a year or nearly €800 over 10 years. Even at €79 to buy the app outright it is still too expensive. I can't see Leica renting out many of the apps. 

OK, that is the rant over. The free version is pretty good, I just wish I could change lenses and exposure. For that I would pay €20 to unlock those features, but on a once off payment only. Oh, and an option to control colour balance would be nice too. 

But at nearly €80 a year, EVERY year...

Many people use the iPhone as their everyday camera, so €800 per decade isn't all that much if it delivers.

You are right Bernard, a lot of my instagram posts are taken with my iPhone. On social media with their compression and looking at the photographs on a small screen, would you be able to spot the difference between a native and processed iPhone image and one taken with the Lux app?

Like many others on this forum, as an experienced M camera and lens user, I was able to spot the differences between the M11 + 35/50 LUX APSH lenses and the 35/50 LUX ASPH LUX app emulations shot on my iPhone 13 Pro Max straight away--the differences can be significant. Unsurprisingly IMO the tiny sensor on the iPhone and iOS plays a heavy hand on LUX APP image processing particularly the out of focus areas, something I am sure will be further fined-tuned over time. 

Likewise, it also depends on the scene, scenario etc. IMO whether someone might be able to distinguish app vs real on a social media platform. 

OTOH, there is no tell-tale fringing on the LUX APP 35/50 lux emulations wide open compared to real life. But that could also be a good thing 😎

IMO, another nice mobile phone camera app which can be used for free or for a $6.99 subscription for access to all the features. This app just happens to have some Leica sizzle and frankly the Leica Looks can be fun to use too. Plenty of people will create some very nice photography with this app just as they do with other camera apps for some time now. 

And like with everything else, the app is sure to improve over time as both iPhones and their sensors continue to improve over time as well.

Anyone know how to activate the manual control that the press release mentions? Obviously, the exposure compensation is right on the main screen, but how do you access shutter / iso / focus controls?

Disappointed in the lens simulations. The color profiles are ok. But at that price, probably not going to keep it past the two week free trial.

Yes, thank you, unfortunately none of those preserve the focal length. I filed a feature request with Apple a few years ago.

OK, so now for a test. Here are two photos of my dog. One was taken with the Lux App and the other with the iPhone native app. They have been resized to be uploaded to the site. Plus there is a little processing on each so which is which?

Bummer. You can long press on the “magnification” and get a quick slider to change focal lengths, but that’s not much different than tapping the selection button itself. Doesn’t solve your problem. 

iOS 18 should be announced today at their WWDC, perhaps there will be camera changes. With the AI hype, they’ll just take the pictures they think we should take anyway.

My solution is to purchase a DLUX 8. When in doubt, spend money.

Only just seen this - I assumed the app was to do with software for Leica digital cameras.

So if I take a photo with my phone using this app, does it mean it's OK to post on the forum?....

According to the description for the image subforums, it should not be OK (even though Lumix cameras with Sigma lenses are allowed as welll due to their L-mount...) but I think here in this particular thread it could be at least entertaining.
