You've got it all wrong. It's not the color rendering, it's the GLOW, man!

The glow is caused by lenses, not by the camera body, therefore it doesn't really matter

Digital M bodies have an unique colour science, which people also consider as the Leica Look

If this was true, then the "Leica look" would only have been around since the latest releases of Leica cameras when they began using sensors designed by a Belgian Company named Cmosis. People have been talking about the Leica look for decades.

That’s because what was true then is obsolescence today…!

This is the 'Leica look'.....

A man stands confidently, his attire a blend of classic and modern styles. He wears a fedora hat, its brim casting a subtle shadow over his face, giving him an air of mystery and sophistication. Slung across his shoulder is a high-end bag, its polished leather surface and sleek design indicating its expensive nature. In his hands, he carefully holds a Leica camera, known for its precision and quality, suggesting he has a keen interest in photography or perhaps is a professional photographer. His posture and accessories imply that he values quality and style, and is possibly someone who appreciates the finer things in life.

Just brilliant, thank you very much. Really tickled my ribs.

I really haven't got the hang of this at all. I do prefer the unshaven, semi-vagrant look which deters people from coming up and say "Are you taking photographs?" .....

While Anbaric has transformed the prompt into image, I have asked AI directly about the Leica Look. ChatGPT-4o had this vision, must admit I am surprised it added some of that glow 😄:

Not so sure about the inclusion of the one-legged man myself.

But surely that's Simenon's Commissaire Maigret?

Quite impressive!

Philip.

They don't design any sensors.

Their sensors are designed and made for Leica.  They have to be made under the specifications that Leica suggests.  The color science results in the Leica look…!

Modified maybe but certainly not bespoke designs from the ground up. There simply is NO definable (or actually existent) single Leica 'look'. Coulr science is maths and output from any half decent sensor can be adjusted/converted to such close approximations to outputs from others that it will be near impossible to tell the difference. What we see on monitors or on paper prints contains far less information than sensors are capable of recording so conversions don't have to be as absolute as is often conjectured. Most 'colour science' is actually about reproducing colour accurately rather than producing specific 'looks'.
