The glow is caused by lenses, not by the camera body, therefore it doesn't really matter Digital M bodies have an unique colour science, which people also consider as the Leica Look 1 1

fotografr Posted June 6, 2024 Share #24 Posted June 6, 2024 This evening I was walking along the boardwalk at the southernmost end of Puget Sound. A guy coming the other direction saw my Q3 and as he walked by he said, "Nice Leica." That's the Leica look.

The look is determined by the lenses AFAIK, color science does not really contribute. It was in fact all the lens errors that made the Leica look famous. Here is a deep and fruitful debate. He wears a fedora hat, its brim casting a subtle shadow over his face, giving him an air of mystery and sophistication. Slung across his shoulder is a high-end bag, its polished leather surface and sleek design indicating its expensive nature. In his hands, he carefully holds a Leica camera, known for its precision and quality, suggesting he has a keen interest in photography or perhaps is a professional photographer. His posture and accessories imply that he values quality and style, and is possibly someone who appreciates the finer things in life. Just brilliant, thank you very much. Really tickled my ribs.

I do prefer the unshaven, semi-vagrant look which deters people from coming up and say "Are you taking photographs?" .....

pgk Posted June 6, 2024 Share #39 Posted June 6, 2024 53 minutes ago, Anthony MD said: Their sensors are designed and made for Leica. Modified maybe but certainly not bespoke designs from the ground up. There simply is NO definable (or actually existent) single Leica 'look'. Coulr science is maths and output from any half decent sensor can be adjusted/converted to such close approximations to outputs from others that it will be near impossible to tell the difference. What we see on monitors or on paper prints contains far less information than sensors are capable of recording so conversions don't have to be as absolute as is often conjectured. Most 'colour science' is actually about reproducing colour accurately rather than producing specific 'looks'.
