Who was able to get in an order this morning? 😃

It is not yet available for order, AFAIK. Websites may write "backordered" when they have not received any shipments yet.

Leica photography annual revenue is less than B&H. They have to optimize the opportunity costs.
Globalization economy and industry is the only correct trend that can go the long way. Only politicians may want to against it. Yeah, the stupid ones.

I am sure it is still sourced from Panasonic. A real a Leica? Only wishful imagination. But so what as long as it meets your need.

What matters most is that the ergonomics feel like a Leica. The D-Lux 7 cameras feel like a Panasonic, but I still enjoy them.

I think the Leica looks might be there, Filmstyles, the Menu screenshot in the manual shows that.

What I can not see is, if I can set the zoom to a default and if there is a mode that lets me toggle the zoom between common primes. I think the 7 had that as well, that is neat for M prime shooter who are used to look at the world like that

Yes these features are on my Wishlist too.  It annoys me on my TL2 when I'm zooming to say 14 mm and in Lightroom it shows up at 13.9 mm.  Hopefully they can enable this and perspective control via firmware.

I was holding out hope there would be more upgrades than previously reported but looks like most of the pre-release information was fairly complete already.  Was hoping things like wifi speed would be faster as well, but I think too much was kept from previous.  I think I will wait for a good used example to pop up in a year or so, hard to justify getting this in addition to my X100V at the moment.

I do not see D-Lux 8 as a substitute for Leica CL.
I see D-Lux 8 as a real Leica version of LX 100 II, instead of a rebadged version like D-Lux 7.

I don’t see it as replacement either.

I have very much enjoyed the D lux range but I will say I am disappointed.

we all have our opinions but when I look at the D lux 7 and lux 8, I’m not seeing anything making me want to upgrade from the 7.

The better Button and menu layout is nice but I really only use that camera in auto so it’s really just set and forget. Guess I’m not seeing how the 8 is that much different.

There is a youtube by Pixelvillage, you can see around minute 11 the menu and what I think are the Leica Looks. Vivid, Standard, BW High Contrast and so on.

Still digging around if it has Step Zoom

Manual p67, color profile/film styles.
