I ordered from the Leica store and the package says 'On the Way Picked Up by UPS' but that's been the status for going on a week.  I talked with the Leica Store folks and apparently there were a number of orders that were handed off to UPS on that same day and all have the same status.  The folks at the Leica Store are on it though and have already submitted a ticket on the missing items.  I'm thinking someone at UPS may have a house full of very expensive Leica gear.  This was one of my fears when I considered purchasing from someone on FB or on eBay, so happy I went with the Leica Store and they've been great to deal with.   Hopefully I'll get an m11 soon, I already have a strap, half case, thumb grip, a new bag and have a lens coming.

eBay and Facebook (PayPal) both cover incidents like this. So much disinformation.

Had you bought on Facebook you’d probably have your camera and enough money left over for another lens. 🤦‍♂️

At least you get UPS etc.

Here in NZ if I order from the USA via UPS, FedEx and so on, they carry it to Auckland airport and then it gets given to NZ Post who are so slow I think they use pack ponies for delivery.

I do like having that two year warranty though, and I got a break on the cost.

Y’all need to get off that island on the Southern side and push it closer to the rest of the world. 😃

Hopefully this will be solved but I can’t see from your posts where you are.  DHL have never let me down. You are covered against non delivery by DHL .   Can you confirm which Leica store you made your purchase from.

I’m sure the UPS truck just froze. They just have to remove and replace the battery and format the truck’s SD card.

UPS better release some new firmware to fix that.

Or maybe we have to wait for the -P version trucks to come out?

AllenB,  The Leica Store will replace your wayward M11.  In the mean time, you can read the manual and get ready to upload the new firmware that just came out too.  r/ Mark

Thanks for the tips, the Leica rep is actually sending me the link so I can download it to an SD card and have it ready, I should have my m11-P on Monday, woohoo.  Also, UPS never found any of the cameras so they'll be cutting Leica a very large check.

AllenB,  This isn't the first time, Leica cameras walked away from UPS in NJ.  A few years ago, a whole large shipment outbound disappeared as well.  Hope you have a bug free M11 experience.  r/ Mark

I never realized UPS employees were Leica enthusiasts. They should be fired and have the police raid their homes to retrieve the stolen merchandise.

The latest UPS contract in the US is absurd. Soon the drivers will make USD100K/year. No wonder they over charge for every package.

I used to work at Harvard as a support tech in the undergrad biology teaching labs, along with my husband. One year my husband ordered a $4000 bio amplifier/digitizer kit for students in physiology classes to used for recording EKGs and electromyography signals to computers, and it was to arrive while we were on vacation. No problem our boss would be there to receive it. When we got back from our trip there was a crushed box in the lab (our boss should have refused delivery, but didn't). Not only was the cardboard outer box damaged, but the inner stainless steel suitcase the kit was packed in was dented. We sent pictures of the damage to UPS and the manufacturer. Someone at UPS must have backed a truck over the package or rammed it with a forklift to do the kind of damage we saw. The bioamp did not work, would not connect to the computer, and UPS tried to say it was not their fault. The company that made the kit sent a replacement, and it took months for them to get reimbursed by UPS. Apparently the US Post Office has a better track record for not damaging packages, but of course they wreck some too.

Hope Leica can promptly get you the camera you ordered, and they can get UPS to reimburse them for the lost stuff, which is not your fault in any way, obviously.
