Dr. G Posted May 5, 2024 Share #1  Posted May 5, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have a recommendation for a wrist strap that doesn't have a metal split ring connector for the SL3? I'm not interested in using the Peak Design anchors right now. Advertisement Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Hi Dr. G, Take a look here Wrist strap that won't scratch camera lugs on SL3?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Donald M Posted May 5, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted May 5, 2024 I use this one for 3 years now and am happy with it:Â https://en.eddycam.com/shop/sling-2-l-with-holding-plate/?v=796834e7a283
Anbaric Posted May 5, 2024 Share #3 Â Posted May 5, 2024 (edited) Maybe the Op/Tech mirrorless wrist strap or their SLR strap: https://www.optechusa.com/products/mirrorless-wrist-strap https://www.optechusa.com/products/slr-wrist-strap Though I'm dubious about using what amounts to a bit of string to secure the strap to the lug of a heavy camera - as with all these non-metal connectors, including the Peak Design, you'd need to monitor it carefully for wear. FlashGordonPhotography Posted May 5, 2024 Share #4 Â Posted May 5, 2024 The SL cameras don't need wrist straps with split rings. They have lovely wide strap lugs like cameras should and not like the M or Q cameras. I kind of like the rock and roll wrist straps on my SL3. Peak Design lug strings have yellow and red internal layers which will warn against wear.

dpitt Posted May 6, 2024 Share #7 Â Posted May 6, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use the Leica hand strap that came with my old Leica R8+motor winder. It only works if you also use the battery grip but I like the handling of the SL better with the grip anyway. The hand strap feels very secure and easy on the hand. The Sling2-L that @Donald MÂ posted will work both with and without the battery grip.
Leicaboy Norway Posted May 6, 2024 Share #8 Â Posted May 6, 2024 I was kind of shocked, I bought a nicely used SL2 with RockNRoll strap. It doesn't have a whole lot of metal near the camera anchor, but some. Enough though to make scratches in the paint. I have peak design strap too but those plastic clips, when I transport my camera with the straps on, for instance to put it in my car seat, there's friction all the time. So i understand your question!
