I have a DLux 7 with the in camera usb3 charger, which is OK but there are times when I want to charge a battery out of the camera. I’m struggling to find a Leica charger but have found a Panasonic DE-A98AB Battery charger. I think this is the one for the LX100(the retailer says it’s for the  DMW-BLG10 batteries for the TZ80 TZ90 TZ100 or GX80) am I correct in thinking it will safely charge my DLux 7 batteries?

Many thanks

My charger for LX100 is Lumix DE-A98. It is made for Panasonic DMW-BLG10 batteries and similar. The D-Lux 7 being basically a Panasonic LX100M2, the same batteries hence the same charger should fit but i have no experience with the D-Lux sorry.

That’s very helpful as it confirms the charger is the one I thought it was. There are posts both here and on DPReview saying DLux 109, DLux 7, LX100 and LX100ii batteries are all the same so I think the charger should be worth trying.

Many thanks

It is unfortunate that the Nitecore UL 109 charger was discontinued. It may still be available at the Leica Store in San Francisco, as the Nitecore Leica BP-DC15-E Charger.

In 2020, when I bought my D-Lux 7 in Germany, I addressed this topic to the salesman.

He tried to put the battery into a Panasonic charger - this did not work!

So I'd be careful or at least go to a shop with my Leica battery and ask the salesman if this could get checked with an available Panasonic charger.

I took the risk and bought the Panasonic DE-A98AB charger. The Leica battery fits and as it has USBc input rather than mains I used it with my DLux7 charger which works fine.

Best wishes
