If an M camera with an EVF was released, would it replace your SL?

No EVF on this one. Basically, a vloggers camera like the Sony's. EVF camera with an M bayonet is Q4 this year.

Gordon

I like the shape of the body.

Slap a Visoflex 3 on it and call it for the day.

M-bayonet? Would be very interesting!

Of course - but that does not change the fact that any ICL camera CAN be turned into a fixed-lens camera, with minimal (if any) change required, from the lens mount back.

For all practical purposes, many Leica users effectively have a 50 or 35 "welded" to their Ms. if they never use anything else.

Yes it was not hard. In that time.

Leica did a lot of special orders even for individual customers back then. They built a microfilm printing device for my father, consisting of a modified Prado 150 slide projector,  special film trays and guides and a 45 degree mirror, and a Focomat base.

BTW something added the words struck out above directly to my post. Without my permission. Those are NOT my words.

Leica version?

Possibly, given that Panasonic and Leica are working together on camera platforms. I wouldn't expect Leica's version to be a straight re-badge, but it should use the same sensor and processor in a different body. In a perfect world, this new body would take the same battery as the SL and Q.

I agree.  I love my SL.  I love my M.  They’re different; I approach a subject differently with each camera.  In fact, I exit the house with a different mind set depending on which camera I have taken with me.  I can own two cameras, I don’t need these to be merged.
