troyfreund Posted August 24, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I shoot often for regional trade magazines. I just received these mags, displaying covers that I shot with the R8/DMR. The scans don't do them proper justice, but you still get the idea. fotografr Posted August 24, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 24, 2006 Very nice work, Troy. But don't give ALL the credit to the R8/DMR.

Fotobug Posted August 24, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 24, 2006 Troy, Thank you so much for posting these published images of your work with the DMR. As others have pointed out, you should give more credit to the eye behind the machine. I am considering getting either an R8 or R9 in the near future to do some editorial work. I think you have put me over the top. Whenever I mention Leicas to other photogs, editorial or others, they rib me about expenses. I tell them that their cameras - usually digital Nikons/Canons will be broken or obsolete in 3-5 years time. That their manditory purchase of autofocus body/lens combos will probably malfunction/fail when they least expect - and the joke is that they don't need the autofocus feature. At the moment most of my 35mm gear is Leica (screwmounts and an M3) and I really want to stay with the marque because of its quality glass and durabilty. My Leica III is 70 years old this year - and it works very well. Please keep us informed of your editorial successes with this R8/DMR combo. Thank you for the inspiration. troyfreund Posted August 25, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted August 25, 2006 Thanks for all the nice comments, everybody. I was real pleased with how these turned out too. Next week I might go down to Orlando for a day, to photograph an auto-body paint shop. Yeah for trade magazines! Troy
