She quietly shakes her head at my gear obsessions and often says "why don't you just go out and take some pictures?" I doubt she could even tell you the tech specs of her camera. She just likes it and is gifted in matters of composition, light, subject selection, and other things that photographers are good at. Really, sometimes we all need to calm down and just get busy shooting with the fine Leica gear we have and not worry about whose silicon was used for whose sensor. Men with cameras (in most cases) are like mechanics. Constantly maintaining their " cars" but without driving them much. When Im slightly distracted, I usually look at Leica Oskar Barnack award galleries. Those photogs are busy taking photos and not spending time on forums.

In the past, it’s felt a lot quicker / easier for me to sell my used M bodies and lenses, and at fuller prices.

Unfortunately there’s no public figure I am aware of. — I know it cannot be taken as a valid indicator, but while I see the Q3 is still somewhat hard to get after one year, the SL3 waiting list seems to be considerably shorter

Yes, there’s an abundance of 24-90 and Summilux on the market, at a very competitive price. But one of the key differences is that M lenses can be adapted to any mirrorless, so their market is really huge

In the past, it’s felt a lot quicker / easier for me to sell my used M bodies and lenses, and at fuller prices. I have experienced the same thing. Wanted to sell some apsc and Tl lenses. Not even Leica's official store would buy. Maybe the market will come again, they said, and I could ask again. Selling privately is next to impossible. One option would be to buy the SL3 and use the lenses there. But even though I am an M (M-D) user and a Q3 user, I hesitate... a lot. I would like to switch and I think I will be a loyal customer. I have had a Leica since I became a press photographer at the age of 20 and am today 58. Professionally, I have always used Nikon and Canon. Now I need equipment that can cover private and professional use and I will probably choose Sony/Nikon or Canon. They are really innovative and you can easily resell and buy in all price ranges. Yep. Which is why I don't really thing Leica is in competition with the big three. They price themselves into a different market sector. I'm not price sensitive when it comes to camera gear but K remains the sensible one and will occasionally make sensible decisions. I do try not to promote this behaviour.
