Spent some time at my camera shop looking at the SL3 and one thing that bothered me was the rear right dial was seemingly not programmable. I have this set as exposure compensation on my M’s and Q, and am struggling to understand why this is the case.

I would expect to be able to set up the cameras the same especially for that feature, but my dealer and I looked for several minutes and could not see an option to change that.

Is this indeed the case, or is there something we missed? Thanks

I have mine set to exposure compensation in Aperture priority mode.  The dial has to be set for each mode the camera will be set in, so that may have been the issue when you tried to do it.  Some modes may not offer exposure compensation on that dial.
