I love the Summaron.  I got lucky and ended up with a black one, but I also got a 34mm Heliopan yellow filter and it really sings on the monochrom.

My advice: Make up your mind if you  prefer M10 generation or M11 generation. then get color and b+w body of ONE generation.

I would hate to go back and forth between different user interface and have different batteries etc.

If the shutter sound of M11 is a no go for you-sell M11 and buy a M10M.

I (slightly) prefer the M11 generation for several reasons.

If it were only for the possibility of exchanging batteries indeed, it would save a lot of irritations

I agree with the comment above that BP doesn’t light my fire. I prefer chrome or the silvering of black chrome to the brassing of BP.

However, unlike a BP film M, the digital camera will at some stage become a paperweight so the premium on a fancy finish to me seems less important.

Personally, I’d like the consistency of M10-R & M10M or M11 &M11M.  Black paint won’t improve photos but the camera you prefer using may. Sell the M10 BP, take the profit from its value and pair your M11 which you prefer using with an M11M.

I have an M10-R and just bought an M10M (having sold my M9M some years ago). I’m not interested in the M11 series.

Any quality digital camera can potentially live for decades of use; the problem is not the cameras but the users.. My 2003 Olympus E-1 is still working beautifully, 21 years on. I expect my M10M/R will last similarly.
