I am fortunate to already have my own SL3 camera, and I thought it might be helpful to gather questions from other users.

I have noticed that the option to format my memory cards in the camera is greyed out. Could anyone provide an explanation for this issue?

In addition, the camera does not go into sleep mode, which it should do after two minutes. OK, maybe it just wakes up so quickly that I don't notice it. However, the top display is permanently on. Again, I would appreciate any helpful hints.

Ok, I solved one problem: the camera was still connected to the iPhone. There used to be a blue light and an indicator in the top display for this - but I guess not any more, so I didn't notice it. So now the camera goes to sleep, too. And yes, waking up is quick.

What does the instruction manual say in response to your questions?

If I had found something about this in the manual, I wouldn't have asked here. But a very nice way of writing rtfm :)

SD cards have a side lock and it can bump. PC or not.

Thank god I'm using CF Express.

But now I see an error message in the viewfinder stating that the card is not usable because it was formatted by a different device. The error message appears even though the card is working perfectly. Strange. I formatted the card as ExFAT.

Now, I have managed to do it, and the formatting works after all. The trick was that I had not inserted the CFe card, and then I was able to call up the menu for formatting. Then I formatted the SD card, inserted the CFe, and was able to format it, too. I don't know why the camera didn't allow it before. It's still the same card, but all fine now.

Use SD Formatter when formatting on the computer.

While there is still some time before I upgrade from my SL601, there is few questions I wanna know about SL3.

1. Does the top LED show focus distance when you half press in MF mode?

2. Do pressing nipple joystick will activate AF temporary in MF mode?

3. Does phone GPS reliable enough indoor or forest?

4. Is SL3 perspective control work well?

5. Is Multi-shoot absent from SL3?

6. How the highlight recovery on SL3? The reduced flash sync from 1/250 to 1/200 kinda let down since I’m do outdoor flash.

7. Can we turn off ibis to save battery?

Yes, if you have set it up that way.

That depends on your phone, probably. I have not tested it.

I have not tested it. With proper exposure, highlight recovery should not be an issue with any camera.

The IBIS is always active, holding the sensor in place. The stabilization can be turned off, but the EVF and LCD use most of the power anyway.

I'm using only CFExpress card, and the camera wakes up instantly once started for the day.  I don't shut it off until I am done.  I've been almost exclusively an M10 or M11 user in the recent past.  I ran into the error message that CF card had been formatted elsewhere, so I formatted in the camera (lost a few shots), and that message has not reappeared.

Comment on the post just above, multishot is expected inb a later formware release, but 1.1 seems to be just some bugfixes.

Did you receive the multishot information from Leica?
