daned Posted March 8, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted March 8, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Getting my SL3 today and need some advice on lens selection. Departing between the Leica 24-70 as an all rounder travel lens or just get the prime Summicron 35 which would be lighter, any benefits or suggestions? Also for zoom get the Panasonic 70-200 or just go for the 100-400 for the range, Panasonic seems to have come out with a lighter smaller zoom lens also, what is the best zoom to get for wildlife photography if not getting the leica lens due to price. Photoworks Posted March 8, 2024 Share #2  Posted March 8, 2024 the Leica 35 is the same as the Panasonic ($600) . Quick focus and lighter, and all-around good lens. Leica offers an apo version that is amazing in resolution, but larger, heavy and expensive. this is the Leica/pana 35 on SL3 Welcome, dear visitor! Photoworks Posted March 8, 2024 Share #3 Â Posted March 8, 2024 Leica 24-70 is similar to Sigma 24-70 good performer, the only issue I have is that it collects dust in the lens over time. I can't speak for the longer lenses, I have the leica version, and used 70-200 2.8 a few time, but I don't usually have the need for long. daned Posted March 8, 2024 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 8, 2024 Thanks for the feedback, yes I am looking at the 35mm, also debating between Sigma 100-400 vs Panasonic 75-300.

SrMi Posted March 8, 2024 Share #7 Â Posted March 8, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) With SL3, APS-C 55-135 (70-200 FF equivalent) is also an option as it creates 26MP files. But AF-C with APS-C lenses is hinky :(.
