Some of you may recall this thread: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/customer-forum/23458-requiem-m3.html , where I lamented the disappearance of my M3 since february 2006.:(

However, today I got a mail from Shintaro, that he has the camera and had forgotten to send it to me:eek: He included a photograph:) Thanks to Tom Abrahamsson, who reminded him!!

Wow !!! Double stroke / old-style-shutter times !!! What a wonderful item !!! Keep it like is... unless you take seriously Rob's advice on a fine Orange-look...:)

Converted to single-stroke some time in the past. The Vulcanite is nearly pristine and it was just very heavily scuffed by the light meter. So indeed I'm going to keep it this way, even use it with my same-year Summarit. It has got a nice brown Luigi half-case waiting for it.:) It is in the mail and according to Tracking has left Tokyo.

Jaap,

I`m glad this worked out good for you, there`s a "Happy Ending" :D

I just talked to Shintaro through an email last week, he told me he could do my camera in under 2 months ~ we`ll see?

I just secured a very clean and all original 1963 "over one million" M3 ss that`s got just a small engraving problem at the rear of the top plate, rest of the Camera`s DENT FREE and SMOOTH.;)

I`m asking for a few custom touches, as the Swedish Army M3`s were painted ALL Black, only the Shutter Button, Lens Lock Down/Release Button and the Accessory Shoe Spring Rails will remain Chrome, EVERYTHING ELSE will be painted Black.

Also going to add the really kool looking ALL BLACK FILM COUNTER as well

Crazy, but I`m spoiling myself, after a very successful Sales season, I have some spending cash and I wanna have a camera that was made the same year I was born and also custom to my wishes....would be kool to have a M6 Film Load system in the bottom of it, but I`d have to ask Don Goldberg if that`s possible to do, and just what that might cost??? *if not then a Quick Load System will go in the bottom lateron*

It`s going to be a fun camera, that`s what I`m planning, and I also have to come up with some ideas for a odd FAST 50mm lens as well.

NO Noctilux, but something really unique, like a Zunow or a Fujinon, or a Hexanon????

Any suggestions for a FAST ARTSY PLEASING OOF/BOKEH 50mm lens that`s under $3,000????

Tom

A Hexanon 50 1,2 has been sold few days ago for exactly 3000 US$... I don't think one can find a Zunow for less, even if I haven't recent data about.

My M2 was made roughly 9 months before I was born

Nov '60 was a busy month... :D

Which reminds me. It needs a CLA - much like its owner.

Happy ending Jaap - bring it to Hessenpark :)

There you go. After all that it was just the Sake and not being able to understand dutch gibberish. Poor little guy probably doesnt even know Europe exists. Looks good. You have the camera or just the photo?

Dutch gibberish seems a little disrespectful but I guess someone your command of of grammar has nothing to fear
