Are you serious?

Quite, I've seen him in New York with the camera around his neck. There's also images of Matt Stuart and Josef on the internet where the X100V is being looked at, either looking at images or trying to figure the menu out. There's no reason to be shocked, the X100V is an amazing tool for making images, might not be for all but we all have different needs.

So you believe Xt5 with 18/1,4 is better from Leica Q3? What’s your opinion?

I have that combination, and I have to say I prefer my Q3 over that combination.  Besides, once I put 18/1.4, the Fuji combination feels heavier than my Leica.  Also, even with 1.4, it's not comparing equivalent, since Fuji 1.4 is really full-frame 2.1.  You would need a 1.1 lens to match 1.7 in the Q3.  That would make the combination even more heavier . . .

My two cameras currently are the Q2M and the X100V, although I've owned almost every Leica made at some point. That said, the Fuji is not a Leica, and Fuji, IMHO, is popular because it sort of imitates a Leica, and is far less expensive. Quality is fine, but comparing the two, the feel, the workmanship of the Fuji to the Leica (any Leica) is markedly lower. My X100V is a knockaround camera. I'd never view any Leica similarly.

No no, I meant that your post was a joke about people upgrading. I know that Koudelka has switched to Fuji 🙂

I believe he still shoots with his modified S (link), but the X100 is also one of his tools.

Trankster do you have any AW Balance problems? Have you ever used a Fuji xt or xp or x100?

Not that I have noticed so far.  I would adjust the white balance in camera or post-processing if I felt the AWB was not what I wanted.

I have owned 3 Fujis -- x100t, x100f and x100v.  After I purchased a Q2, I eventually sold my x100v which was getting no use.

How did you find the size difference between the X100V and the Q2? Enough to affect the way you'd carry it or the situations you'd use it in?

I had an X100F for a while - ended up trading it away.  I didn't care for the convoluted menu setup, and the camera's love of changing from DNG files to JPEG while shooting because I touched/held it in an "incorrect" manner.

I now have a Q2 which IMHO is a better camera than the X100 cameras - better by light years.  Yes, the Q2 is larger, but it is also a much more straightforward design and is much less convoluted to use than the X100 series.  Given that, I have next to no interest in the X100VI.

That's my experience - EEMMV (Everybody Else's Mileage May Vary).

Why Q3 is better from XT-5 with 18/1,4? Except the basics we read in a pdf? Are JPEG from Q3 better from XT5?

I did not notice a signficant difference.  I used both the same way.  The Q2 (now I have a Q3) was a bit larger and heavier than the x100v, but not a big difference.  I carried both cameras either in a small shoulder bag for transportation or on a shoulder strap worn slingwise across my chest.

I can't answer this.  Based on specs (full frame, 61mp, Leica lens) the Q3 may have somewhat better IQ, but this probably does not a make a big difference if you are primarily shooting jpeg.  If you have a XT-5 with 18mm f1.4, why not try that as a solo set up and see how it meets your needs.  Or, if you budget allows purchase a Q3 and try both and see what suits you best.

To me, the ergonomics of Q3 are much better than X-T5. This means that I enjoy using Q3 much more than X-T5. If I enjoy a camera more, I will make better pictures.

I dont have 18/1.4 is too big for street photography. Are you happy with Q3 JPEG? I want something distinctive and light for street.

13 pages comparing a Leica against a budget fuji camera.....................................really.

I would not call a $1700.- camera a budget camera, though when compared to Leica prices, all cameras seem to be budget cameras ;-).

X100VI is certainly a professional tool.
