Advertisement Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Hi RoySmith, Take a look here New Leica Q3. Am I being nitpicky?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Marc B-C Posted December 9, 2023 Share #22 Posted December 9, 2023 You Ba@£$%s! I have just looked at my Q2 and the badge is the same as the OP's. 😱 Honestly? it really does not bother me. For those for whom it does matter, it should look like this: https://brandguide.leica-camera.com/design-principles/logo

Olaf_ZG Posted December 9, 2023 Share #24 Posted December 9, 2023 It is really bothering when sth is not straight. For that reason I cover the logos. Don’t want anyone on the street asking me that why I have a Leica and why the logo isn’t straight. Dont bother to use lenscaps either, as I never get them on in the perfect angle. 1

For the sake of nitpicking argument......🙂 It mentions and specifies the position, but not the angle, and none of the examples of improper use are of an angled logo. 🤷♂️
David Wien Posted December 9, 2023 Share #27 Posted December 9, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some people around here seem to have far too much time on their hands. I suggest going out and taking photos with the offending Q3 and then looking at the individual pixels on the photos to see whether they are also at the wrong angle! 😄😄😄😄 David 3

Le Chef Posted December 9, 2023 Share #29 Posted December 9, 2023 Leica is introducing this coming week a Christmas/Holiday accessory Set Square and Spirit Level Kit (S3LK). This will cost a measly $200 and can be rushed to you direct from Wetzlar in no time at all thanks to our Claus delivery system. Apart from straightening badges the S3LK can be used to straighten Uncle George after he has had one too many glasses of sherry before Christmas lunch and to make sure everything on the table is lined and as regimented as a formal dinner in Downton Abbey. The S3LK has also been endorsed by Hilda Ogden and Nora Batty.
bobtodrick Posted December 9, 2023 Share #30 Posted December 9, 2023 I gotta admit there have been a bunch of really funny responses to what is a non-problem. But we should leave it now…the OP has been thoroughly chastised and probably thinks we’re mean…less likely now to ask a legitimate question when he needs assistance. That said I just ordered my spirit level kit and hope it is here for Christmas 😂

Guest Posted December 9, 2023 Share #32 Posted December 9, 2023 The logo on my Q3 is perfect, but the whole body is slightly twisted. Should I send it back?

SAronian Posted December 9, 2023 Share #34 Posted December 9, 2023 Official logo does show the baseline of the "a" slightly higher than the "e" Welcome, dear visitor! rtai Posted December 9, 2023 Share #36 Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) Imagine selling stuff online and the buyer uses this as the reason for a refund. I have had people complaining about a speck of dust in a 30 year old lens. Not much comedy in that at all. Edited December 9, 2023 by rtai
everbong Posted December 10, 2023 Author Share #37 Posted December 10, 2023 I appreciate the responses, some funny, some helpful, and some neither. I’m a wedding photographer of 15 years and bought the Q3 to rekindle the joy of photography. They say if you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. I think that’s terrible advice. I haven’t shot for myself in years. Anyhow, jokes aside, they could easily fix this with two alignment nubs/holes, interesting omission for a design-centric product.
Budfox Posted December 10, 2023 Share #38 Posted December 10, 2023 I can't see any difference between the pics you posted, the red dot angle on my M11, and the Q3 product shots on the Leica site. I think it might be expected behaviour.

That has never been my view (assuming you mean aesthetic design, rather than engineering design). I see Leica cameras as photographer-centric products. It doesn't deny the issue you have identified, but perhaps explains why many of the responses (including mine) don't see it as particularly important. Yes, when you spend a significant amount of money on a product or service, you expect the quality to also be of a high calibre. Are you nitpicky?.....No, I don't think so. Your perception of the issue tells me you value quality and have expectations as a consumer. There are a few ways to now move on. Accept the slight misalignment and respect that the Logo was adhered by an employee in Germany, who has the highest regard for the camera, brand and future of the company and is only human. Contact Leica in your country and advise them of the issue and most probably they would just have a new logo sticker sent down and replaced at one of their service outlets Embrace the fact you are a member of a group of few people on the planet that have a camera that is still listed as " back ordered " on websites, a camera that delivers superb image quality and is from a family of high quality craftsmanship, design and heritage. You own a Leica Q3. Send it back and purchase another. However you proceed, enjoy your Q3 and have a Wonderful Christmas and New Year. 5. Just straighten the ruddy thing.
