Pin Cherries Along The River

I think these are Pin Cherries but I can't tell for sure because the leaves are gone.

So the tell might be where they're living. Winterberry is a wetland plant and likes to grow along river banks and in swampy low land. I'm not familiar with the terrain for Pin cherries.

These are growing alongside a river, so your ID might be correct.

The photograph is delightful. I bought a bottle of pin-cherry wine from a Hutterite Colony North of Winnipeg....Had the aroma of gasoline.
