Pin Cherries Along The River

I think these are Pin Cherries but I can't tell for sure because the leaves are gone.

From the branches it's likely to be Winterberry.

Hard to tell. These berries are soft and translucent and the winterberries appear to be more solid like a cranberry.

So the tell might be where they're living. Winterberry is a wetland plant and likes to grow along river banks and in swampy low land. I'm not familiar with the terrain for Pin cherries.

These are growing alongside a river, so your ID might be correct.

The photograph is delightful. I bought a bottle of pin-cherry wine from a Hutterite Colony North of Winnipeg....Had the aroma of gasoline.
