So I assume you got up early today and tested it against the 75 APO?

Can you provide some of the images pls?

That would be great to see.

Sure. I did this brief comparison a couple weeks ago. Wanted to see if the 50mm 1.4 cropped in looked near to the Leica 75mm F2 APO, not the most detailed comparison.  No changes except the exposure slider in Capture One. No sharpening.

Panasonic 50mm 1.4 wide open Cropped to Match:

Here is what the Panasonic 50mm 1.4 looked like uncropped:

I ended up keeping both because the 50m 1.4 is much faster focusing, but heavier. The 75mm F2 is lighter and it has a touch more separation and I find it more flattering to the subject.

What would happen if you go closer with the 50 mm 1,4 ?

You kept distance because of the perspective?

If you go closer then if would change the perception of the image, or am I wrong?

And the other thing is that I was talking about the new 50 mm 1,2 Sigma.

And I was curious if there were any Testshots.

It does not seem to be much, but it makes a difference.

And yes I like the 75 too, but sometimes it's nicer to have a 50 mm with very shallow df.

It looks different and more natural.

Great work

Thanxs for sharing.

Of course it could – which means that this option is over for Leica. For the iconic M-System a Noctilux with a 10k price tag will always find buyers.

But a fast 10k Leica-SL competitor (maybe at 1.0 or 1.1) to a 1.5k Sigma at 1.2 (745gr, filter 72mm) would lose the game.
