It was her birthday, so the pilot let her sit in the cockpit briefly to pose for a photo because she wants to be a pilot someday.  (The photographer used a too slow shutter speed.)

As a side note, I am a pilot and most of us are more than happy for you to come and say hi and more than happy to let you sit in the seats and take your picture. On a trip to Korea last week, 2 ladies headed there for a business trip came up, took their picture. From Frankfurt the week prior, 2 young boys, one of which wanted to be a pilot, yep, took their pictures. If I see an unaccompanied minor (that is what the airline calls kids traveling alone) I always invite them up, it usually helps them with their anxiety of traveling alone. I always enjoy showing people around, it doesn't have to be your birthday. Don't be shy.

Please forgive me, but I keep getting images in my head of Peter Graves as Capt. Oevre in the Zucker-Abrams-Zucker film Airplane when little Johnny is in the cockpit.

We often fly in very light a/c, and when the pilot asks, "Who would like to sit up front with me?" Barbara is already strapping in there by the time he says, "Who would."
