However, it would help to point out that it is your opinion and not phrasing it as the absolute truth, like „In my opinion..“ or „for my taste…“. … „the new screen design is ugly“ or very simple „I don‘t like the new screen design“ Enough of smart ass(I mean myself, not you)coaching. I honestly agree that from an aesthetic view the Q2 looks a bit nicer, but for me the new button layout and the very sturdy flippy screen works much better - beside so many other improvements, which again are valuable enough for me to justify the upgrade. Others, like you, evaluate this differently for themselves. Still, while being a thing of debate, I think the design is still great and the Q3 is still a beautiful camera. Just in direct comparison to the Q2 it is a tad less elegant on the back. But , I mainly use the camera to take photos, not to look at and admire it I can’t figure out how to buy one…Q3, that is. carousel2050 Posted January 25, 2024 Share #129 Posted January 25, 2024 Battery life is a thing. But the bigger disappointment ist the poor charger. It takes 4h to charge. In camera charging takes 3h. But if you want to go on shooting you need at least 3 batteries.
jaapv Posted January 25, 2024 Share #130 Posted January 25, 2024 Isn’t there a third party charger available, for instance Jupio or Nitecore?

I have the Nitecore—works well I use it as a travel charger. You can plug it into a battery pack for charging on the go. The only trick is not to completely flatten the battery as only the Leica charger can charge a battery from that state. It appears to be conservative to protect the battery.
jaapv Posted January 25, 2024 Share #132 Posted January 25, 2024 That is indeed a Nitecore thing. I had it happen to one of my 601 batteries. I had to start the charging in the camera.

True that I only owned a CL for a few months before I sold it (a few years ago) in anticipation of the CL-2, but the CL colours were very much to my liking and I don’t ‘feel’ the same way about posted images from the Q3 yet. It’s just first impressions, I’ll look some more, perhaps it’s been too long since I’ve had a digital camera. Colors coming from the post. If you don‘t like, use a different profile, problem solved. There’s only one reason, the Q idea is a nice milk cow for Leica, but destroys all the fun of photography with this auto-everything point and shoot concept. Oh, there’s a second reason, this socalled zoom lens gadget is a ridiculous, infantile way of fooling yourself. If you want to crop so desperately, you can do that afterwards too. In fact the Q line is a blemish in the face of Leica, which built up its good name above all with M photography. The Q batteries are pretty high capacity… The Nitecore is a travel charger—pair it with a battery block and charge on the go. also: if you want to go on shooting, you only need one battery—that’s all the camera can take 😆 No idea how hungry a Q3 is compared to a Q2M, but I have rarely needed more than one battery per day… …but then I take photos old-style: consider each shot, wait for the moment, not too much chimping , etc (I wonder if I am still thinking I have only 36 shots max. The older photographers here will get that 😉) I certainly don’t spray and pray and then wade through a thousand photos for the ‘good one’. 🤣
