Hmmmm…and yet your first post on the topic was how some of your best pictures were made with the Q(1).

Indeed. Some of my best shots were also on the micro-four-thirds sensor. "Best shots" don't equate to the best available technology.

So why is he spouting nonsense about the Q3?  FYI the Q uses exactly the same digital correction.

OK, so you agree he's not ignorant of "hybrid lens design". The issue is extreme barrel distortion, which of course necessitates extreme digital correction.

And? What exactly is the issue? The way it was designed offends against ethics? The lens-sensor-firmware of this camera is designed as an integral unit. How large do you suppose a 1.7 28 mm FF camera would be otherwise? Define extreme as opposed to acceptable ( to Lloyd and by extension you)

Have you measured the digital corrections on this lens?  Did you not notice that it is slightly bulkier?  Not to mention the price difference…

The 28 SL APO lens costs less than a Q3. $800 less. Used even less so. I use the same bag with my other gear. I'm fine.

The Q3 is a lens and a camera. What does body cost? Add it up…

He tested the Q1 and claimed the lens "was barely adequate on the 24-megapixel" sensor. He abandoned tests for Q2. If it's the same lens on the Q3, what's to test?

His and yours opinion disagrees with other owners who otherwise are used to the quality of SL-APO and MF lenses (Fuji and Hasselblad). Jim Kasson tested Q2M against GFX 100S and got better results with Q2M (although, center only, but it shows the resolution potential of the lens).

You have the right to believe Lloyd, though I do not recommend it.

I already have an SL2. It's a no-brainer for me. When I had a Q2, I always took it out with my SL2 (50 'SL Lux). I'm saving.

Which begs the question why you bought a Q in the first place.

Depends on what you shoot. For landscapes or even environmental portraiture, you need good or decent corner sharpness.

Maybe you should make this your mantra.

Photography is art…a whole lot more than hard specs on paper goes into making a good photographic tool.

So you don’t like the Q3…great, buy something that YOU are happy with instead of trying to convince others they should also be unhappy.

The original post is about reasons not to buy a Q3. If it's making you unhappy, don't read the posts! :)

After that, it made no sense to me to go with the Q3.

So why are you trolling here then? To make you feel better about your choice? Not working. We can see through your hack reviewer and his/your arguments make no sense.

Q cameras are excellent tools for landscapes and environmental portraiture as well.

I can say the same…you don’t seem to be convincing anyone to agree with you…so don’t bother posting 😛😛😛
