benqui Posted October 7, 2023 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is from a series where I tried to darken everything around Pauline as much as possible. The light should only shine on her face. I really like the results but especially in this case it is for sure a matter of taste. fotografr Posted October 8, 2023 Share #7 Posted October 8, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm with the crowd on this. I like the result very much. If it was my image I'd crop off the top 1/4 to bring her face more away from the mid point vertically. I'm constantly impressed with the way you try different lighting techniques and poses. A lot of photographers find something that works and just stick with it. That's definitely not you.

I did not crop the photo because I wanted to have the light coming from above like a small sun. And with the crop I have chosen, the „sun“ is exactly in the right upper corner and she is looking directly to this light. But I agree with you, your crop would emphasize her face better.
StS Posted October 10, 2023 Share #9 Posted October 10, 2023 Outstanding composition, lighting and tonal control. Personally, I wouldn't change it a bit. Stefan
