Popular Post Sparkassenkunde Posted September 29, 2023 Popular Post Share #1  Posted September 29, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was happy to get the opportunity to do some snapshots during a small workshop at Fotomeyer in Berlin today. With a studio setup, a professional photo model and some advice by photographer Frank Jurisch everything was prepared for some tests for my new Leica Q3. It is truly interesting for an amateurish photographer like me to see how the pros do their work. Was a nice time and maybe my pictures bring some of the enthusiasm I feel for the Q3 to you: Welcome, dear visitor! Terin Posted September 30, 2023 Share #7 Â Posted September 30, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Q3 has 28mm, probably not very suitable for this type of portraits. But to tell the truth I wrote nonsense, because the photos are very, very beautiful ! My favorite is the first one, great job 1

I thought it might be interesting for you to see the setup for this studio session. The lights in the back are white spots, the Godox to the left was used as a red fill directed at the face. The light source under the umbrella was tuned to a light blue, the small light stick in front was synchronized to the same color: Welcome, dear visitor! Sparkassenkunde Posted September 30, 2023 Author Share #9  Posted September 30, 2023 (edited) And as the black&white pictures seem to be favored, #2 re-processed. fotografr Posted October 1, 2023 Share #12  Posted October 1, 2023 The entire set is fantastic. I also prefer the b&w, partly due to the quality of the conversions. I wonder if you might briefly discuss your process for that.
Sparkassenkunde Posted October 1, 2023 Author Share #13  Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) My process is based on a preset I built for some of my street photography after a visit to Japan. For this preset I started in Lightroom with the preset "B&W Punch". Maybe the following screenshots give you an idea about the processing steps I applied afterwards: Welcome, dear visitor! If you are interested, drop me a note and I could send you my preset so you might try it out with your own work. I use presets a lot as a starting point for my adventures in post processing. I often come to the conclusion that my own presets based on the starting presets in Adobe Lightroom are more to my liking than most of the free presets you find online. benqui Posted October 1, 2023 Share #14 Â Posted October 1, 2023 A beautiful set of portraits James! And we see the the Q cameras also fit very good for portraits. These are moments where I say to myself that the Q is the only camera I need for everything
RSH-Photo Posted October 7, 2023 Share #15 Â Posted October 7, 2023 Lovely images. I was wondering, what was the crop factor on these images, 50mm, 75mm?
Sparkassenkunde Posted October 7, 2023 Author Share #16  Posted October 7, 2023 Thanks to all for leaving a like or a remark! I shot DNG and JPG cropped to 50mm. In post I cropped even further, thanks to the plenty of pixels I get with every image. To give you an impression, a side by side comparison between the DNG (re-cropped to 28mm) and the final image: The capture: Welcome, dear visitor! Sparkassenkunde Posted December 11, 2023 Author Share #18  Posted December 11, 2023 (edited) Thank you for your kind remarks! The picture you quoted was cropped massively - it is 2128 x 3198 pixels before export to forum size. The series was done really quick under one minute and without much thinking on my side 🙂 Edited December 11, 2023 by Sparkassenkunde
