I'd rather not mention his name

First up, I do not know his name, just his nickname.  This young man’s circumstances were probably of the worst kind that I have encountered.  Parental abuse, poverty, homelessness and much more.  Our conversation lasted about 30 minutes and it was intense.  When we parted, he gave me a hug and promised to keep me informed about his life, in return I gave him some much needed (and not asked for) money.  What is certain is that he is unlikely to ever own a Leica camera.

Photographing homeless people is a contentious topic.  Some people contend that recording the plight of homeless people is unethical, I believe that ignoring their conditions is unacceptable.  In my posts, I usually provide the name of the person I have photographed but in this case I decided against using his name in order that he should not be the subject of an internet search.

I originally uploaded a file with the nickname, realised what I had done and deleted it.  I renamed the file and uploaded again.

As for Pop, words don’t fail me but I choose not to engage.

Pop was just saying in a humerous way that he saw no image on his screen - as explained in his later post. Pop was a great Moderator a few years ago.

Thank you for the explanation.  I should have added that I can see the image fine on my tablet and computer.

This is what I can see which apparently is not visible to others.

Ah.  I finally see it.  A superb and disturbing photo, with a perfect background for your subject.  Please let us know when he updates you.

BTW:  Many homeless feel invisible, and actions like yours - engaging them - is a kindness.
