dpreview's studio scence resolution test is out for the M11:

https://www.dpreview.com/news/8454362189/leica-m11-added-to-studio-scene

I looked at e.g. M11 / Fuji GFX100S / Sony A7RV / Canon EOS R5
(owning an M11 and a Fuji GFX100S)

Fuji seems the best, as a 100 MP not a surprise;
Leica M11 in raw behind Sony quite a bit; of course many folks leave comments like 'this is impossible' 🙂

I have not paid attention to JPG results - the Leica jpg engine (and auto-white balance) have never convinced me.
(The only JPG's I find worth looking at are Fuji's including their color options/film simulations, that I consider as brilliant.)

The screenshot below does not offer much ... if you are interested, you have to browse to the dpreview link yourself.

M11 is the worst camera. That is what the DPreview test proves.

But the everyday life with the M11 proves the opposite.

There must be something wrong with that test. Hopefully DPreview will correct. Sometimes I wonder if they are still going strong or are they dead already?

Hand to compare IBIS vs non IBIS, unless IBIS was disabled in the Sony?

this is run on tripod for sure, so as long as a camera does not have the requirement of turning off IBIS when on tripod (and the tester ignores that), I dont think its an issue

There is often an advantage for IBIS at slow shutter speeds, even with tripods. 1/30s here? My minimum shutter speeds are 1/(2f) on the M11 i.e. 1/180s with 90mm lenses.  I would redo the test at 1/200s to be fair.

To my eyes, the Raw file off the M11 looks noticeably blurred compared to the GFX100. I don’t know why, and it is a rather different conclusion to the one that I’ve personally made from my own files. For my “test”, I photographed the same outdoor scenes using these cameras (I own both), all on a tripod and at f5.6, and printed 20x24” test crops from what would be 50”-60” images. A difference in blur is really not something that I detected when comparing my M11 + APO Lanthars vs GFX100!
