jaapv Posted August 1, 2023 Share #41 Posted August 1, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) On your phone you must remove all references to the app from your WiFi and Bluetooth. Check that your phone has sufficient free memory- your image files are large. Then delete -completely- and reinstall the app.

Tom Gee Posted August 2, 2023 Share #42 Posted August 2, 2023 I have been having a similar problem with my Pixel 4 and an M11. Despite deleting the BT connection each time (forgetting), it establishes a BT connection but then fails to move to a wifi connection. With my wife's more advanced pixel, there is no problem. This leads me to think that it may be due to a conflict with one of my apps. That's as far as I have gotten.

scott kirkpatrick Posted August 2, 2023 Share #44 Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) The basic advice is to delete both sides of the interaction between Fotos on your Android and on your Leica after each software upgrade or firmware upgrade and have a fresh start. You don't aways have to do this, but it is quick enough. I use only Android phones, and have seen constant improvement but not perfection. Tom Gee Posted August 3, 2023 Share #45 Posted August 3, 2023 Annoyingly, I (and the customer support person in NJ, USA) sent an email to Leica in Germany (the group who developed the app) and have not received any reply. Very Frustrating
eyecibus Posted August 4, 2023 Share #46 Posted August 4, 2023 Dump the Leica Fotos cache, this always works for me whenever a camera connection starts acting up.
Uwe Jansch Posted August 5, 2023 Share #47 Posted August 5, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think Leica doesn’t care at all about their clients so many have the same problem to fix it is not rocket science all works on other cameras till Leica goes down again they will not care

A manual that 80% will never open is a waste of paper and resources.
Tom Gee Posted August 6, 2023 Share #49 Posted August 6, 2023 Hi All, I was able to solve this problem on my Pixel 4, using my M11. First, here is an email that I received from the FOTOS app developer: Thank you very much for your e-mail. First, please verify your phone and your camera are running the latest operating system and firmware versions, respectively, and perform any necessary updates. The latest firmware for your M11 is version 1.6.1, available for download here: https://leica-camera.com/sites/default/files/LEICA_M11_V1.6.1.FWhttps://leica-camera.com/sites/default/files/EN_M11%20FW1.6.1%20Release%20Notes.pdf Please use your file browser to check if your Leica Fotos folder has any non-Leica pictures in it. If it does, please move them into a different folder. Please make sure the memory card was formatted and used in this camera only and not in a different camera or a computer. If "Delete" is available and white (and not greyed out) in your Leica FOTOS menu on your camera, please delete your phone (and any copies thereof) from the camera menu. Please delete your camera in Leica FOTOS and then restart your smartphone (important!) Then pair the devices again via the Leica FOTOS App. If this does not resolve the issue, please follow these steps: Please check the settings for the FOTOS app in your smartphone to see whether the required permissions have been granted. Also, for this test, deactivate settings such as mobile data or VPN. A full SD-card can cause delays or even a time-out in the connection process. Please test the connection procedure with an SD card with only a few pictures on it, or even without a card. If the connection problems persist, please remove the camera battery for a couple of minutes and reset the camera to factory settings. Please let me know if the above steps have resolved the issue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is what I did, and I am now easily connecting my Android to my M11: Currently, I have been able to get the app to sync with my phone. I took the following steps: I verified that it can connect, as it connected to my wife's Pixel. This means that the problem is somehow connected to my phone. I updated all of my apps on my phone. I tried to run FOTOS in safe mode, but in safe mode I don't have access to my apps. I switched my wi-fi band to 2.4 ghz I disconnected from my wi-fi at home. was then able to link FOTOS with my phone. I then reconnected to my home wi-fi, which disconnected me from the camera. I was then able to reconnect. I turned off both and waited a while and have been able to reconnect. Then ... I tried to switch my wi-fi band to 5 ghz. I was unable to reconnect. After leaving the camera off for an hour, I was unable to reconnect, unless I disconnected from my home network again. So, this is where I am now. I do not know whether this will remain stable. I will let you know. My question ia: Should I be able to switch to 5ghz? Normally, I would not care. However for photo transfer it is probably better (am I correct?)
