And I wonder for how long Nissin will be around. Their last flash is from 2019, a solid but basic flash with many compromises sold at a higher price than the competition. In the meantime, Godox has eaten their market with more efficient flashes on the lower and upper side of the offering, at a lower price. And people who want a more professional experience go for Profoto, not Nissin.
Advertisement Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Hi Simone_DF, Take a look here SMALL flash for Q3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Einzelganger Posted April 24, 2024 Share #62  Posted April 24, 2024 I bought a used SF-24D and it does not support TTL with my Q3. I'm debating whether to sell it and get the SF-40 or keep it in the event I ever get a M11. The flash is in mint shape, so perhaps it will be worth keeping as these will be increasingly more difficult to find. The form factor is perfect for the Q3, so it's dissapointing there are no smaller flash options that support the Q3 with TTL mode.
yann Posted April 24, 2024 Share #63  Posted April 24, 2024 I also have a mint SF-24D and no plans on replacing it with an SF-40. I don’t understand why TTL is not supported unless there is a HW limitation with the flash.

Cogito Posted October 22, 2024 Share #65 Â Posted October 22, 2024 Has anyone tried the new Godox iM30 on a Q3? Wondering if it has same issue as the Lux Junior re: slow shutter speeds.
djb Posted February 15 Share #66 Â Posted February 15 Does anyone know if the mini flash that came with the DLux 8 is compatible with the Q3? That's the perfect size flash that I'm looking for. Anyone know anything similar to that size that works?
OlivierG Posted February 18 Share #67 Â Posted February 18 Advertisement (gone after registration) For my part I use a Godox AD100 Pro (with X3-L) which can be handeled easyly. The main advantage for me is to be more creative with an unfix flash. This flash is like a soda can, it can be store in a pocket.
PhotoCruiser Posted February 18 Share #68 Â Posted February 18 As far i know there is no small TTF enabled flash for the Q series. I use two Godox V1 strobes and the tiny X3-L trigger and it works great, same as OlivierG, to position them where i want. Godox has the small and retro style flashes but the email Godox sent me they are not compatible with the X3-L Chris

Not sure about the slow shutter speed issue but be careful when tightening the iM30 onto the Q3 as the rotating collar used to tighten the foot of the gun onto the hot shoe makes contact with the shutter speed dial on the one I have. Works well for a quick manual blink of fill, good for putting catchlight into eyes on portraits.

PhotoCruiser Posted February 18 Share #71 Â Posted February 18 Yes, i thought djb look for a very small and affordable flash, the SF24 is; not really small, very expensive and difficult to find, but will be the only option other than a Godox trigger and strobe. jmschuh Posted February 18 Share #72 Â Posted February 18 As far as I know, the SF24D does not work with a Leica Q (TTL), but the SF26 works reliably.
