Leica IIIf timer question?

Hi,

In addition to rotating the timer lever to the locked 6 o'clock position and then releasing the shutter by pressing the small button, should you also be able to release the shutter using the normal top shutter release button?

Thanks but this iiif link has no timer, I need someone who owns a iiif ST to either confirm or deny this.

My camera has returned from a CLA and I am quite sure the normal shutter release button also activates the timer...but I am not 100% sure.

Don't press the shutter button.

Even with the self timer set, you can press the shutter release any time as normal to skip the timer delay and snap a photo, but only the timer button on the front will start the timer.
