LeicaRoy Posted March 2, 2024 Share #41 Posted March 2, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have always used PD straps on my Fuji gear (leash on X100V, slide light on XT3), but find they spoil the look of the Q family - may sound odd but part of the big $$ we spend on the Q's means they have to look the part 🙂 I use the provided "special" Q-P brown leather strap on my Q-P, and the Leica Neck Strap Vintage Brown on my Q3. It os a beautiful and functional strap (nd protects the body from scratches) Welcome, dear visitor! The PD straps are utilitarian and very handy for quick adjustments on the fly. Not the best look on the Q family and yep - I do value the aesthetics. Lately I've been ordering my non-PD straps with PD connectors and getting the black PD anchors. IMO you get the best of both - the quick release, non-scratch PD anchor system and a strap that complements the camera's overall look.
Pindy Posted March 3, 2024 Share #44 Posted March 3, 2024 Where are you getting your PD-integrated straps from, such that would suit the Leica aesthetic? I see Wotancraft do a line. Who else?

Love his stuff and super nice guy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/OKLIstraps?ref=notif_nfyfs&order=date_desc There are also the PD links that work with SL straps. https://www.peakdesign.com/products/anchor-links If you buy a strap made for the SL - the ends fit the anchor links perfectly. I have a couple of the Rock'n'Roll straps with the SL ends and they work a treat. https://rocknrollstraps.com/product-category/camera-straps/rock-n-roll-straps/ Welcome, dear visitor! Wellsyboy Posted March 3, 2024 Share #46 Posted March 3, 2024 For me its function over form every time but still searching for the "one". I have PD straps from my Canon times - I like their adjustability but used to use them in a sling style rather than a neck strap style which meant I could have the camera at my hip and this worked well with a large camera body and a heavy lens. I can't do that with the Q3 unless I attach a bottom bracket to it. As I am going to focus on street photography I have invested in a paracord wrist strap and I found the PD wrist strap didn't function smoothly and I had to use two hands to get it off my wrist. This works really well. To cover times when I want to free both hands up I have attached PD connectors to the Q3 - that gives me the quick remove option for the shoulder/neck strap but doesn't look very pretty and can be a little annoying. Still looking for a quick release option for a shoulder /neck strap. I can't tell if the Leica leather neck strap is easy to get on and off. The concept is fine but the bulk and design, IMHO, cheapens the appearance. I'd far rather forgo the convenience. Luigi half-case and Bowman Leather strap: ah.
