beewee Posted June 30, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Having spent a bit of time with the Q3, I thought I’d start a list of feature requests that I’d like to see (in order of priority) in upcoming firmware updates. Live view composite found on Lumix cameras Apple Find My support so we can track the camera just like AirPods and AirTags FOTOS Apple Watch Integration to allow remote trigger and framing just like for the iOS builtin Camera app Waveform monitoring for video, just like the SL2-S Bluetooth Audio I/O for external microphones and headphones like AirPods to allow monitoring of audio and potentially using microphone input from Airpods. This feature exists on the Insta360 X3. Ideally, it would have native support for popular wireless mics like the DJI Mic and RODE Wireless Go II Edited June 30, 2023 by beewee
Advertisement Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Hi beewee, Take a look here Q3 Feature Requests. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ingo Posted June 30, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 30, 2023 I vote for #3. What I am really missing on the Q3 is a real Back-Button-Focus mode. AF-L locks the AF only for one shot. Especially for street/event this would be extremely useful (at least for me).
Olaf_ZG Posted June 30, 2023 Share #3 Posted June 30, 2023 I stick to 50mm…
Steven_nl Posted June 30, 2023 Share #4 Posted June 30, 2023 I would love an option where you see the actual frame in crop mode. Instead of the frame lines. This is 2023. come on guys 😉 minor thing. An option to assign a function button to re-center the focus point. Double tapping the screen is a bit swkward with the camera to your eye.
Loneshooter Posted June 30, 2023 Share #5 Posted June 30, 2023 Maybe stupid things, but battery percentage and an icon in the EVF/display for macro mode just to remember you're using that mode, would be great
nariza7 Posted June 30, 2023 Share #6 Posted June 30, 2023 Totally niche and not popular for many, but I'd like digital image stabilization for video (I'm ok with small crop like how sony does it)

We need a way to remove the focusing operation from the shutter button while still being able to focus with a different button. 1
Mikep996 Posted June 30, 2023 Share #8 Posted June 30, 2023 Hmmm... wouldn't it make more sense to buy a camera with the features you want instead of buying a Q3 that doesn't have those features? 🙄

The question then is how much more are you prepared to pay for these additional features? $500? $1000?

Why is that the question? There is no option to pay more for Q3 and get the features that I like. The BBF implementation is a software issue. AFAIK, it was properly implemented in Q and then abandoned in Q2.

Then you ask for the features you want and wait until Leica decides to include them in the Q4. We’re still waiting for Leica to implement a solution to avoid the wandering focal point, so you may be waiting a while. Igster Posted July 1, 2023 Share #14 Posted July 1, 2023 Center button press brings focus point back to the middle of the screen. This is such a useful feature from my Sony.

If it helps you: if you double click on the display , the focus point or square centers. i would love to have this with a tripple pusch of the center button. cheers
Ingo Posted July 1, 2023 Share #16 Posted July 1, 2023 vor 8 Stunden schrieb SrMi: it was properly implemented in Q and then abandoned in Q2. Exactly. I used the Q a lot for weddings and event photography which was much harder with the Q2 without BBF. I begged during the beta test of the Q2 to get the feature back, but Leica seems to have other priorities or they don't think the feature is important enough. We should close this thread and not waste our time with Leica but think outside the box. There are so many more pointless posts that want to be read. Thank you for the great example.
acfieldscr Posted July 2, 2023 Share #19 Posted July 2, 2023 Custom Leica Looks - like Fuji recipes - the one thing I miss about the Fuji is being able to shoot jpegs on the casual daily family stuff and share straight away without sweating the lightroom edit.
