Branch Posted June 16, 2023 Share #1  Posted June 16, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) A friend who inherited this asked me to help dispose of it. I'm not familiar with Leicas, so I'm the dark here. A little online searching suggests that is is a Visoflex system. Am I correct? Assuming it has nominal value, the owner is not interested in selling per se, but would like to put it into someone's hands, a user or collector. There are also some other parts and a fitted leather case (no logo). Packing and shipping costs only. Would any of you like it? spydrxx Posted June 16, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted June 16, 2023 Personally not interested, but that is a very kind and generous offer. I'm sure other members will contact you.
hepcat Posted June 16, 2023 Share #3  Posted June 16, 2023 That is a Visoflex for screw mount Leicas, and your offer is indeed kind and generous. I'm sure that one of the members who collects Barnack Leicas will be ecstatic to get that from you. Michael Geschlecht Posted June 16, 2023 Share #4  Posted June 16, 2023 (edited) Hello Branch, Welcome to the Forum. What you have is a Visoflex I, mirror box with a PEGOO (16487) 45 degree - 4X magnifier. attached to which are a ZOOAN (16495) focusing mount. In which is a 135mm f4.5 HEKOO (11138) lens head. This is the detachable lens head of a 135mm f4.5 Hektor lens. Coded HEFAR or HEFAR-M (11135) or HEFAM. The 5 capital letter code letters are the earlier Leitz (The Company that made Leica.) code designations. They were replaced around 1959/1960 with the number designations in parentheses. Both are correct & either is interchangeable when being used. Not everything has both letter codes & number codes. I don't know what the lens with the "Series # 6 USA" on it is. Your friend's offer is very generous. You & your friend might want to research these along with the other lens. Your photos are nice & clear. The measuring tape is a good idea. It would be nice if we could see a few more photos of the lens that has "Series # 6 USA" written on it with the covers off & any other writing, etc. shown. This Forum does not allow its participants to provide estimates of monetary values to each other. The condition of everything looks very nice. The general rule in situations like this is: Please do not clean, or fix, anything you are not already familiar with. it is usually better to leave things alone. Feel free to ask more questions. Pyrogallol Posted June 17, 2023 Share #5 Â Posted June 17, 2023 Looks like a nice Visoflex collection and a generous offer. The sort of equipment I use.
zeitz Posted June 17, 2023 Share #6 Â Posted June 17, 2023 Is the black lens with the "Series # 6" filter attachment an Angenieux lens? Â (The ring should unscrew easily to make the lens markings easier to see.) Â If it is an Angenieux, it has more than a nominal value.

Branch Posted June 17, 2023 Author Share #8  Posted June 17, 2023 Thanks to those who mentioned the possibility that this is an Angenieux. I'll do some checking with the owner and let you all know what I find.
qqphot Posted June 17, 2023 Share #9 Â Posted June 17, 2023 A nice setup! I use one just like it occasionally. I've never been able to get the focus quite accurate, but it's not too far off. I assume there's a place to shim for calibration or something but I haven't found it.

Branch Posted September 3, 2023 Author Share #11  Posted September 3, 2023 Thanks to those of you who suggested that the Angenieux lens was worth more exploration.  The kit with the Visoflex does have a P. Angenieux 90mm f/2.5 Type Y Lens with Leica screw mount. It seems to be in very good condition other than exterior dirt and grime. Beautiful, petite lens. If you are interested in more details, I have photos of the kit in the Historica classifieds.
