I thought I would have moved on one of the bags but I find I’m happy to use both. A Q in the 2L… I don’t know how he gets that bottle in. There’s essentially no room left.

The 3.5L though easily fits my Q3, OM-1n, batteries, cards, strap, a couple rolls of film and L-308 meter. Very satisfied.

The 3,5l is perfect for a Q and some other essentials: keys, wallet, phone, sunglasses, spare battery and sometimes an iPad mini as well.

That's exactly what I wanted to read as that would be the equipment I'd carry (w/o iPad)

I've ordered several bags from Wotancraft over the years. I'm tall (and some say big) - exchanged messages with Wotancraft when ordering - they have lengthened straps for me on several bags. No problem - just talk to them. Great bags!`

Thanks for the tip. I’m also a tall or big guy. I contacted WotanCraft about the length of the strap. Long story, short: They made me a longer strap, free of charge.

Thanks @OldMan and @Smogg and @Marc283 ! I just got my 3.5L Wotancraft Pilot for my M-D with hefty 35mm Distagon ZM. They very kindly made me a long strap (I am 6'8"/204cm) and for the first time in my life I have a shoulder bag right at my hipbone so no movement when I walk and instant access at a natural arm length plus of course I can cinch up instantly for sling mode when jogging or going through dense vegetation etc.

Also very pleased with the cool clip method which automagically maglocks back into place. Oh, and no zip teeth around the opening to scratch or mark my black paint M-D ...

Great product from a great company ...

PS Mine came with a handy and well-made drawstring bag (a bag for a bag!) which is classy presentation but I think it will make a great practical dust cover and for travelling / being in suitcases, cupboards etc ...

I just received my Wotancraft Pilot 2L and it’s the perfect size for my Q2. Fantastic quality as well! I wanted a smaller bag to protect my Q2 while traveling and walking. I have room for the Cooph rope strap, spare battery, lense cleaning kit and extra filter. Still have a little room left for a small wallet. Highly recommend this bag if you are looking for something compact.

I also wanted a small bag to protect my camera with more room on the inside. Its the same 2L but I turned the camera sideways.

In addition to the camera it holds two spare Leica batteries, a power brick to charge my phone or camera by USB, some extra cables, a mini tripod, pen cleaning cloth and an airtag to remind me not to leave it somewhere. Sometimes I I add a couple of filters but then things get tight.

Very Happy with the bag.

Sorry to disagree. I like very much the Wotancraft pilot 2 but here is mine after 10 months of very light use. I am waiting for an answer from the seller.

I was debating the Pilot 2L for my Q2M, but decided I did not want to fight with it when inserting or removing the camera.

Instead, I bought the Wotancraft 3.5L. That also enables me to fit a point-and-shoot (Sony RX100), full strap and wrist strap, filters, extra batteries/cards, etc.

I am thinking about adding the 7L if I can satisfy myself I also can fit my Nikon DSLR with the Q2M.

I have been using the 2L Wotancraft for quite a while now with my Q3 and ancillary items (a hand grip, thumb rest, second battery, misc stuff). I love it… the best bag, and it’s beautiful and well made.

Just to add my impressions if others are considering these bags, over the past couple of months I purchased both a 3.5L leather Pilot and the 2L brown Cordura version. My Q2 with hood, Leica grip with rubber finger loop, and thumb grip fit perfectly within the 2L. And by perfectly I mean easy to withdraw and replace the camera in the bag on the fly (the finger loop helps). With an extra battery, this makes for a great walk around. It also works well with my similarly equipped (i.e., grip, finger loop) M 246.  Had I known this, I would have probably not first purchased the 3.5L although it does accommodate both my Q2 and M with the 50mm APO Cron - just not sure I'll have many occasions to want both cameras this way. The leather is nice on the 3.5L and I found out a few days ago that it easily swallows my A7RV with 24-105, should I ever have occasion to carry it around this way, which I probably won't.

There is lot to like about these well thought-out bags assuming they hold up to a lot of use over time. I'd also praise the strap and shoulder pad. I like the easy length adjustability and, unlike most of the other bags I've tried over the years, the shoulder pad is comfortable, grippy and allows the strap to slide through easily without budging - just as it should.

When I set out, it was an unobtrusive minimalist bag I was looking for to hold my Q2 and a battery - the 2L Pilot fits that bill surprisingly well.

Coming late to this debate, I’ve just bought the Pilot 2L, and want to report that it’s particularly well and intelligently made, great shoulder strap and pad. And provided you are happy to carry no more than pharyngula reports above, it works just fine. You don’t have to fight with the bag to get the Q3 into it, but best way is on its side. I wanted a minimalist sized bag that provides good protection, and I don’t think you can beat this. I’m impressed enough with the manufacturer that if I do want a bigger bag at some point, I’ll know where to look first.

I like the bags and have a 7L pilot but have found that 1. the dividers are not tall enough, this led to one M giving another a black eye (the knurling on the ISO dial scratched the coating on the OVF on another camera, 2. The fabric inside and around the top is somewhat rough and has promoted bronzing of the ISO dials on all cameras, much rougher than the inside of a Billingham for example.

I also really love the 2L Pilot bag — it fits my Q3 43 setup perfectly, including the handgrip, shoulder strap, thumb rest, spare battery, and a 5000mAh power bank.

The only improvement I can suggest is to enlarge the width (in Y axis) of the bag a slightly bit to prevent accidentally squeezing the shutter button, especially when a soft release button is installed.
