As stated before: A wonderful portrait with minor improvements possible regarding the background. I wouldn’t say it is too cluttered, but what distracts are the two white areas in the upper section. As these seem to be the brightest parts in the picture, my eyes are constantly drawn there and thus distracting me from the most important part.

I tend to agree about the white ‘bits’, sometimes one doesn’t have any control over the background.  I don’t think it’s necessary to include all of her hair at the top just don’t make too skinny a crop, the ‘nasty’ bits will go.  Lovely girl.

PS I think you could just get away with a straight crop along the top, removing the light parts and keeping all of her hair.

Thank you very much for your constructive comment James! To be honest, i did not notice the two white areas in the upper section, but now I see what you mean. Please find below another „area free“ version

Also thanks a lot for your helpful comments David! I gave the crop a try and I have to say that without the white spots you are more focused on her face.

This is what I like in the forum: constructive criticism in a very relaxed way!

I really like the rendering and colors you’re getting from the X2D + Leica lens, they have a real sparkle and smooth naturalness to them. Do you have to shoot this combo at the full 100mp medium format resolution and accept vignetting, or does the X2D have a crop mode so that the image circle of Leica lens can cover a “smaller part” of the X2D sensor?

Thanks a lot Jon! I have to say that the X2D is a killer combi with the Leica lenses. I really love it it. Especially the colors are beautiful. Since there was a new firmware some days ago, you also have a crop mode for the X2D to avoid vignetting (6x6, 6x7, 4x5, 6x9, 16:9, XPan….). And it is much more easier to focus a Noctilux with the Hassi in comparison to the Leica viewfinder

My thought exactly. I think the new crop is a dramatic improvement. Now all of the attention goes where it should.

Beautiful portrait. Superb colour rendition.

Thank you very much Brent! I like a lot, that the second („better“) version was a result of our discussions
