(Update: I initiated a return w/ B&H for the battery and they provided 100% refund given the situation. Nobody wants a $170 paperweight. Of course, they did not have an ETA on my Q3 order, but did fully expect it would be before years end, and they are having frequent communications with Leica with respect to the small # of deliveries they are currently receiving. I also received a call from another local store where I was on the waitlist that they would have one for me next week. I happily told them to offer it to the next person on their list. I put my name on these lists the day after the Q3 was announced. it does seem like they are starting to trickle into the retailer’s hands now. PeterKelly Posted August 4, 2023 Share #711 Posted August 4, 2023 Picked it up an hour ago - traded in the Q2 Battery is charging but first thing I noticed is how much firmer the lens hood fits. Also the tilt screen ( for me) is not as obtrusive as some have found….. In my view the utility of having a tilt screen outweighs the perceived aesthetic negative. I signed up the morning after the announcement - in Germany, 250km away from the magic house where Santa and his fairies assemble the Q3. Seemingly everywhere in the world people get the camera just so, but no call for me. I am the kind of person who, if I lived 250km away, would drive to their facility and "make some noise." Bring your Q2 (or other Leica cam) to demonstrate you are a Leica owner and "mean business." That must be frustrating. On the positive side, by not having the Q3 in your hand, you get the privilege of not experiencing errors occurring with the first adopters. That should give enough time for Leica to sort out some of the "Gremlins". My Q2 has been absolutely flawless and a joy to use....maybe the Q3 "want" will disappear before I get the call and ask for my deposit back...
