I had placed my pre-order with them using their website on May 25th at 10:20 AM EST. I don't have a history of many orders with them, and I don't have any particular connection to them. Interestingly, their pre-ordering process was one of the most formal ones I've encountered, unlike some informal lists, such as the one at the Leica store in SoHo, from which I've heard nothing (I was putting my name at the opening of the store on May 25). I have made purchases from them in the past (MM, Leica S, some lenses), but I suppose it wasn't enough to establish a close relationship. I won't be buying from them again. I already have the Q3, which I purchased directly from the Leica USA website. I declined the offer from Leica Miami, and I'm sure I made someone else happy who had been waiting for a Q3. Too many people wine about being on waiting lists for X months, but the secret is to speak to a real person and develop a rapport with them. Dealers want to sell things to nice people, not to lists. If so what time. My order was at 9:47am on the date of announcement. If you were earlier than me than you have an issue; however, I will add that you need to make sure emails from LM don’t get lost in your spam file. Leica UK have an unprioritised lottery when new stock comes in. If your name is drawn you get the chance to buy.... Apparently I'm number 21 on their list and they are getting just a couple a month. They've cleared all May orders and have provided some early June orders too. They have said they have a customer who perennially buys equipment, uses it for a few weeks and then returns it and has said they might return their Q3 shortly (supposedly preferring their Hassleblad!). I think given i'm #2 on the list I can wait for a new one and don't know whether there have been issues with early serial number Q3's that have already been resolved. The wait time and no news from the big well-known Leica store in Hamburg and Leica itself made me to order it. It took only 1 week after my order was placed probably time of my the bank wire transfer and checking the arrival of the payment on Lufthansa's system was the bigger part of the process. Ordered late afternoon on May 25th, production date of the Camera is 2023/08/30. From the first impressions it was worth the wait.
