Vincent Van Gogh --  "Portrait of a Peasant"  --  Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena CA

6K wide High Res image can be found here (look at those brush strokes!) non-flash photography is allowed. The only tough part is getting the proper white balance and the brightness:

Why not use the wall as a grey card? (I usually carry a clean white handkerchief with me for such purposes.)

I did try in post but it gave a slightly green tinge.... so I stayed with the Auto WB.  However, a real good idea about the white handkerchief.  I'll just have to go back.

I meant to do the WB measurement actually on the wall in the art gallery. (A nice clean white linen shirt or cotton t-shirt will also serve!)

I understood what you meant.  It did not look right using the wall .  Next time something white.  However, I was there for the history and art. For that it was a great afternoon.

Bob

ps.  The colors were pretty close regardless.
