I find hidden gems by searching individual stores and I’ve never seen, or found, any global search. You’ll have to check Munich, Manchester, Miami, Boston, San Francisco… individually.  I.ve found many items at Leica stores that weren’t listed on line.

You can buy this device without fear.
Ideally with a warranty from a pro dealer but if you get a good price from a private person I will not hesitate.
The sensor, the screen and the viewfinder are still to be tested as well as the card slot.

If you have m-coded lenses, you should use the Leica adapter.

You make an excellent choice.
The price of the cl is stabilized and is quite difficult to find second hand.

The optics seems to me important too.
I will start with a prime kit with the tl18

Thanks Torpille, It seems like the Leica store in Miami has one for about 1,800. I saw many on the MPB site for around the same price. It seems both of those places give a warranty. One private seller from this site might be selling his for about 2k with Leica adapter which is a must as I want to use VM Voigtlander lens. the TL18 is to expensive for me at this time. How do you like your CL? What manual lens or other lens do you use? Great info on this site.What price from a private seller do think is reasonable in excellent shape?

Leica Miami had two a few hours ago. A silver and a black one. I have done a lot of business with them and consider them to be first rate. The used equipment I have bought appeared to be new it was so clean. You can trust them.

I will take the most recent one with the longest warranty, 
I just looked at the US MBP site, you will have the Leica Thumb up included for some. 

On the other hand the prices have really increased in the last few months on the CL. In my opinion it is very much in demand...
  
Buying through a private person I would say max 1400-1500 $ for the body.

For the optics since you have a conversion ratio of 1.5x... you are quite limited.

24m -- >26mm
28mm -->42mm
35mm --> 52mm
50mm --> 75mm

my preference is for M 28mm elmarit asph. and M 35mm summilux fly

The results are superb.

Not that limited when including 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm and 21mm M-mount lenses. My CV 15/4.5 (equiv. 22mm) works very well on the CL. So do my Leica M, CV and ZM 21mm lenses (equiv. 31mm).

I would add the Leica Stores in LA and New York. I bought a lens from the LA store, for a good price and got a lot of Leica swag from them.

Thanks guys for the info. The only Leica store in the US that has the CL seems to be the Miami store.I will most likely get a manual 35mm -> 50mm, Voigtlander lens as my first lens and more at a later time when funds increase! I have been reading and watching a lot of Mr.Leica aka Matt Osborne UK portrait photographer for lot of insight into Leica systems. Which type of memory card/reader do you guys recommend for USB not type C to computer?

I use a SD reader on my 5 year old Asus, works well with my CL files. The only reader I have used with my CL. I am using 32 and 64 GB cards.

None.  I've never had a need for a memory card reader - my laptop (and desk-tops) have it built in.  Who's doesn't?  I only use Apple computers.  I believe you can spec any laptop purchase with built-in SD readers.

Well that is good. Only one of my slower computers has a micro SD slot. As my faster Intel i7's don't! With the card reader I could then transfer the files to any of my computers or laptops. BTW I use Linux. There is a great Open Source Raw editing  program called 'RawPedia that works on all OS's. I guess I would get a SDHC or SDXC card and maybe one of those inexpensive readers on Amazon?! My Nikon V1 has a USB port so it is easy to transfer from camera -> computer.

Great discussion. I got into Leica 2 years ago with TL2 w 18-56. Loved the light set up. Moved to Q, Q2, SL, SL2-s,SL2. Now I have kept only SL2 and SL2-s with several FF glasses. I am considering trading the SL2-s for CL or TL2 with 18-56. Will be a backup and a light set up. Any suggestions?

The shift from SL2-S to either will be relatively natural as the UI is quite similar. What you might miss is the quality of the EVF in the SL2-S. Neither the CL or TL2 are even close to that quality. But…you gain significant weight savings.

I would like to emphasize this!
Only the original adapter, as said, let’s you use the top dials as a magnification trigger. 
In my configuration, the right dial (outer one) triggers the magnification. It just feels SO natural to turn the dial while pulling up the camera, turning it further to increase the magnification, half press to see the whole frame, repeat… and so on. 

The CL is a gem with M lenses.

The Elmarit 28 also was my CL setup in the beginning. 

Now, when getting the CL for the first time, I would recommend the VM 28mm Ultron. One extra stop over the Elmarit as the CL doesn’t have the best high ISO performance (compared to M10-R, SL2-S or any other newer M…)
Plus, some more background separation is nice with the crop sensor.

Only further suggestion would be (a recommendation): Get the handgrip. It is really great, and the CL feels SO nice with it!
The thumb rest doesn’t work for me, as my thumb always needs to reach the right dial quickly for magnification… But the handgrip makes the CL perfect for me.

Yes, I plan on using the 'original adapter with the CL. Thanks for the info about the dials and magnification. I have been watching Mr. Leica/Matt Osborne on Youtube with a lot tips on how to setup the CL with manual lens. What is a good fast reasonably priced 35mm that you would recommend?

I don’t have it but plan on buying it for my CL:
The new Voigtlander 35mm Nokton Vintage Line f1.5 should be a great pair!
Size and light gathering capabilities should be a great match. I love the handling of my 35mm Nokton Classic f1.4 on the CL, but lacks in sharpness wide open.

(But as I said, didn’t use the new one yet).

Could be worse. CV 35/1.4 SC v2 on CL here.
