Unlikely. The weight savings on the M11 came from switching from brass top cover to aluminum. The Q2 is already all aluminum so there’s no weight savings to be had unless they go to magnesium. Doubtful that this will happen as magnesium machining requires very specialized productions systems to prevent fires. Sigma has a facility for this where everything is done in a completely isolated building with special fire suppression systems.

As to internal memory, memory is very cheap nowadays. I just bought 2 dual connection (USB 3 A and C) 64GB memory sticks for £5.59 each. They run amazingly fast.

Perhaps it’s just me but I see no utility for wireless charging in a camera. A wireless charging pad is another device one would need to care for, carry, keep track of and hope it never breaks. USB-C charging is easy, reliable and ubiquitous. 
 

Wireless charging on the Q3 seems wildly contrary to the “nothing but the essentials” ethos.

As long as it tilts, I'll be happy. It's a hugely useful thing to have on a camera.

I suspect that the tilt screen naysayers will find it more useful than they thought. And if not, they can just leave it folded up.

Tilt screen is so yesterday, fully articulated screen is new and smarter, IMO.

With EVF correctly implemented, here is zero need for any screen while on regular shooting.

I prefer tilt over fully articulated (unless I'm shooting from a tripod, then fully articulated is nice).

A "correctly implemented" EVF (whatever that means) is nice, but when you need to shoot high, low, or from the hip, a tilt screen is invaluable. I don't use my Q2 that way right now, but BECAUSE it doesn't have a tilt screen. I bet that folks will be much more willing to try shots like on the Q3 simply because they can.

I'd also like to see a tilt screen, last "tilt screen" camera I used was my Hasselblad 501 with waist level finder 😀 and it was joy to use. If I needed more precision, I attached PME-51 90-degree TTL finder so having a small compact camera with tilting screen would be nice to have and something I'd consider swapping my M240 + 28 Summicron for.

I've had tilt screens before and never used them - they just added bulk, and I don't use the Q2 for low level macro or looking over the heads of crowds. I looked at the Panasonic S5ii this morning for the first time - it has a similar chunky bezel.

But if this one improves the heat dissipation of the Q3 well enough that it can have long run video (>30mins), then I'll live with it.

That wasn't what I meant - I should have been clearer. I believe the LCD is a big source of heat generation in cameras, so moving it away from the body would help. The Sigma fpl, a similar small size, has a heat sink to help it with video.

I have set my Q2 running video to see what happens. I recall that there was one reason why I found it unsuitable, and my recollection was that it kept to the old 30 minute limit. But I'm checking just in case I'm misleading everyone, including myself.😶

The TL2 took nice video within its limits, but would stop after 20 minutes because of overheating.

Yes, the Q2 stopped recording after 30 mins. It was well warm, but not as much as the TL2.
