Not fetish like!!!, but this camera has really re-opened my imagination for shooting pictures.

I mostly shoot and get published on edhat.com a local web news site in Santa Barbara but I love shooting aviation/landscapes.

What a cool tool.  Compact which matters as a pilot, discreet (reporter), fine images, easy to use.

In this day of more-more-more, less is best!

The "hyper-realistic" rendering of the lens is mind-boggling, I mainly shoot when I travel and I wish to capture memory with that clarity in mind and so far, the Q2 exceeded my expectation. The color is a little subdued but a little tweak brought it back to life, giving that signature Leica look that I can achieve with my M-P240.

I bought mine 4 weeks ago and since then I am truely happy with the camera. I shoot mainly Nikon DSLR and mirrorless and will continue doing so but the Q2 fills a space Nikon cannot.

I think most photographers classify Leica as overpriced lifestlye gadgets for people with too much money. I definitly was in that group until I tried one and subsequently bought one. You need to use it to understand that its a high quality fullframe camera with awsome picture quality packed in a very nice and very small body. Since I got it, I carry it everywhere. It complements my Nikon gear very nicely and its my first camera that actually got a strap - I hate straps - so that its ready at all times.

So the Nikon now carries the tele lens and the Q2 covers the wide field and the quick shots.

Now I have my eyes on a monochrome version, thanks to its awesome ISO performance and because I already convert most shots to B&W. That very modern camera carries me back to days long gone by. I am actively looking for that B&W look of the thirties to fifties, the strong contrasts. It askes me to take photos different from what I normally do, very interesting.

Yep, it has become my most-used camera and what I always take when I visit SB. What a beautiful spot!

I still doubt. Having three cameras they get used too little as I only take one out.

The other two are a SL and M, together they can do what the Q does. Besides, 28mm is not my fav fl…

It’s worth trying one to see what you think if you have any interest. (But having too many good cameras creates its own difficulties, unless collecting of course.)

With all due respects…I don’t get comments like these.

You don’t have one, haven’t tried one…but you post a negative comment.

Again…I don’t get it.

I have one, and it is not a negative comment as such.

I am still doubting if it was a good choice to buy one, despite it is a great camera. But so is the SL or M, and having three great cameras I use two too little…

Me too. It honestly took me awhile to arrive at it, coming from a Canon 5DIV + Zeiss Milvus 50mm --> Leica SL2-S + Summicron-M 50mm --> Leica M10-R + Summicron-M 50mm, and finally the Q2. To me it feels like the most forward-thinking camera Leica makes. I finally realized I don't actually need interchangeable lenses as much as I thought. As a hobbiest, cropping is enough for me, with its 47MP and 1.7 lens. I love how it incorporates rangefinder-like frame lines with its crop modes. I love that shooting manual is a first-class experience. I love the built-in macro. The weather-sealing and durability of its build. The compact size. Most of all the image quality, which is obviously beautiful. It's a camera I can take anywhere with few, if any, compromises. Sorry if that sounds like an advertisement. I figured this was a thread to gush a bit.

I owned the Q2 four or five times. I loved it every time (the rendering) but I sold it every time. The two reasons were 1. the size of the lens and 2. the poor AF performance.

I always end up going back to an M with a 28 Elmarit, to try and solve the two issues at once.

Of course every time I think about getting another one again...

Almost like me and the 50mm Summilux ASPH (owned five times). 😄

Me too,   had a Q, then Q2, then sold it and dabbled (expensively) with an M10 then my current M11.  just not as much fun as the Q experience.......so, swithering to buy a Q2 Mono or hang fire and see what the Q3 brings to the party........I think that after the lovely LST III etc , no Leica camera feels better to use than the Q (especially with my older eyes !)

The rendering of the Q2 is just so special. The closest I found to it on the M is with the 28 Elmarit Asph

I agree. During my m-time I initially bought the 28mm Elmarit also due to its price. By owning it I found out what a gem it is. Some of my best and most special photographs have been made with that lens, including a Leica Master-Shot.

The Q and now the Q2 are also very special and the reason why I like them so much.

The 28mm focal length is now one of my most frequently used focal lengths, especially when travelling. In summer 2022 I took 99% of all my shots in Israel with this focal length - and only 1% with 90mm (SL-Apo's in my case). I would not have thought that's possible until 2 years ago, because my favorite focal length was always 35mm. - In this respect, I'm eagerly awaiting the Q3 with a most likely optimized 28mm lens. If the Q3 also has IBIS (which is not very likely), I would grab it immediately...
