It's pretty laughable at how limited this forum is with quality. It's worse than most forums I've seen, even non-photography ones. Maybe they just want a bigger margin of revenue, or they're truly not getting enough monetary support to provide it.

Some time ago when a new camera was launched the first posted pictures here were so bad I found, that it made a very bad impression. 'Is that all?' The Dot-Brand should be aware. Of course it might have been the lack of profiles.

There could easily be a differentiation at least of users in line with their payment. Just like the price and quality differentiation of classes in e.g. mobile data transport. (Figuring that out used to be my job). That said, with experience the standard setting can be great already. I am just pushing for some extra differentiation, saying that before I get a comment.

Is here anyone who can do some portraits with it and not just random objects?

I’ve seen a few in this thread already. I have done a couple but can’t share it here just yet, but the results are almost identical with my 50mm lux black chrome so far.

I couldn't upload the other ones, I guess the file size was exceeded even though I resized.

Thanks! And even though IG reduces quality too, it's not as bad as when uploading here. I added a few sneak peeks of the shoot today in my stories. I didn't get as much close-up portraits on today's shoot, but soon I will.

I also meant to shoot the same scenes with my black chrome lux, but just didn't have time to swap lenses, and I was constantly teetering close to the edge of water, so it wasn't the best situation haha.

Wow thank you for sharing these pictures! Great work, stunning. I really love it how it renders. The summilux creates a timeless look and you have a better balance between bokeh and sharp areas. The noctilux sometimes paints too much and you often miss focus.

I almost never shoot wide open, even with the summilux. The narrow DOF is just not my thing, and missing focus is always a possibility especially when shooting portraits. My go-to aperture is usually f/2 - f/4. If I want a lot of separation, f/2, otherwise going up to f/4 still resolves into beautiful OOF areas while keeping subjects tack sharp. A noctilux just wouldn't be something that I would ever get the most out of. In fact, I could probably get away with just using a Summicron. That all being said, I still much prefer how the Summilux looks at f/2 - f/4 than I've seen with the Summicron.

It's really a personal thing. But never forget. Mandler and also Karbe say all the time. Leica Lenses are designed to shoot wide open. And that's true. I purchase a particular lens because of its character with the widest aperture. And in that case summilux is somewhat more special and dedicated than the noctilux. Because it "eats" everything around it. And I am a bit "over" this look. Yeah it made years of my wedding series.

Of course lenses are designed to shoot wide open, and also at the smallest aperture too. Maybe there's a bit more focus on wide open, but that doesn't mean it's meant to only shoot at f/1.4. That is silly. Photography is all about utilizing the tool to realize a vision, and these tools can vary enough to need very specifics. I am NOT shooting at f/1.4 on portraits because someone like Karbe said that's what the lens is designed for. lol. I'm going to get the right look I want and the summilux does that amazingly well.

Exactly. You don't need to do that all time. And character also goes beyond 1.4. I enjoy your pictures. They tell a story and that's what I like about them.

Taken while walking around my neighborhood, no photo shoot this week yet so just another object. But look at that light falloff and separation!
