wow that is an amazing deal you got, as you know here in the local market this past few months the M10 is selling around the 6,000 dollars M10M is 9000+ and the 2 Voigtlander lenses around 2 K. that's roughly 17K, so you did very well

Don’t worry. I lost a bunch of money on selling a new q2m and a junk 35 summicron from KEH. Will never buy from KEH again.

Some years ago now, but I bought a secondhand fresh sensor, Wetzlar CLA’d M9p, a mint cron 50 v5, a NOS summarit 90 and a decent condition secondhand summarit 35, all full sets, all with store warranty (plus the Leica warranty for the 90) for the same money as the newly released M10 cost new.

Sometimes I find myself engaged in conversation with folks who clearly would love a Leica but are put off by the cost, but sincerely - buy used, buy wisely (which I’ve managed more often than not*) buy from a reputable store and one can build up a nice little Leica system for not that much more than one would building a high end system from a more mainstream brand.

*My one mistake was a Lux that was a private sale and turned out to be de-centred 🙄 still even after paying to get it fixed it was still a good enough deal (about £2k for what ended up being a Wetzlar CLA’d Lux 50 ASPH. Still not my luckiest purchase)

Maybe I'm wrong, but I have my doubts that Leica thieves are lurking here to try to track down and rob any of us.  It would be much easier and much more lucrative for them to rob or burglarize a Leica store:  https://www.dpreview.com/news/5027177099/leica-store-san-francisco-robbed-at-gunpoint-of-more-than-180k-in-gear

All Leica cameras and lenses have serial numbers; I have been told by a retired police officer that burglars/thieves - in these parts, at least - don't want anything with a serial number on it as it is too easy to track back to them when they sell it (the Leica thieves in San Francisco obviously have a different opinion on that point).  Jewelry and prescription drugs are said to be the most desirable targets for thieves in flyover land.

Regarding burglary and break-ins at your home:  https://www.libertysafe.com/collections/liberty-safes/products/colonial-23  No one is going to carry one of these off or cut through it in less than a full day, possibly longer depending on the safe.

Maybe not wise to say either in GFW2’s vision, but I have summed up my Leica gear in my LUF-profile and this is since I joined the forum in 2007 or so. Thus far I didn’t meet any burglars. In my travels I have never experienced any signs of people interested in stealing my camera, including a few situations where I had left my camerabag in a restaurant or so. And I don’t only travel in Japan, where you can easily leave your luggage alone on a train station.

we have had Threads like this before and never had any issues, heck there are 35 million people in Canada.

I remember a fellow here by the name FLU I think he had probably half a million in Gear posted,  his collection was insane

It seems my concerns were not only unfounded but unwelcome. My intention was certainly not to suggest there are thieves lurking among us. I will enjoy seeing the pictures of all the beautiful gear, but as I said, I'll be more interested in seeing the photographs the gear has taken. I hope soon to be able to figure out how to post and will toss up a few of my own!

OK, I'll play - at the risk of looking a bit like the"system brochure" for a 1981 M4-P. ;)

For the record, all this glass combined wouldn't pay for one of some of Leica's M lenses today. Because I buy cheap and used and keep my eye out for deals. Two of these were made over 50 years ago, three over 40 years ago, and and the rest 25 years ago or more - except the Voigtländers. I might even lose money replacing the whole kit with equivalent new Canon R/Nikon Z glass.

They all do the job, however.

L-R: 135 Tele-Elmar (1965), 90mm Elmar-C (1974), 135mm APO-Telyt (1998), 75 Nokton f/1.5, 50 Summicron v.3 (1971), 35 Summicron v.4 (1981), 28 Elmarit v.4 (1995), 21 Elmarit (1982), CV 15mm Super-Wide-Heliar. (Dates are manufacture, not purchase).

Cameras: M10P black, M10 chrome, M10M black. All with 21 or 21/28 viewfinders welded on (well, for all practical purposes ;) ).

Not much to show off, but too much to lose. All my photography gear fits in this bag. So if the house is on fire, I just grab it and run out. 😄

M10, 35/50 Summilux pre-ASPH, 2TB external HD with all my pictures.

Ah well; why not?

Here are my M-mount lenses. I keep them on the shelf across from my desk just in a couple of shoe-boxes for easy-access;

It might not look like it but there IS a logic to the layout. In reality the lower box sits to the right of the top box (but this way worked better for the snap......:)......).

Top Box first, from top-left going downwards within that box then moving to top of next row in that box etc...

Focal-length runs from shorter to longer; Aperture goes, within same lens' f/l if there are more than one, from 'slowest' to 'fastest';

Row 1 : Leitz 21mm f4 Super-Angulon; TTArtisan 28mm f5.6; Leica 28mm f2.8 ASPH v1 Elmarit.

Row 2 : Voigtlander 28mm f2.0 Ultron; Leitz 35mm f3.5 Summaron; Light Lens Lab 35mm f2.0 '8 Element';

Row 3 : Leitz 35mm f1.4 v2 Summilux; Voigtlander 40mm f1.4 Nokton; Leitz 50mm f2.8 Elmar.

Row 4 : Leitz 50mm f2.0 v4 Summicron; Leitz 50mm f1.5 Summarit; 7Artisan 50mm f1.1 (Silver-Chrome).

Second Box using same system;

Row 1 : 7Artisan 50mm f1.1 (Black); Leica 75mm f2.5 Summarit.

Row 2 : Leitz 90mm f2.8 Tele-Elmarit-M; Leica 90mm f2.5 Summarit.

Row 3 : Leica 90mm f2.0 Summicron v3 (Black) (out on loan); Leica 90mm f2.0 Summicron v3 (Silver-Chrome).

Row 4 : Leitz 135mm f4.0 Tele-Elmar.

Philip.

Edit : Ooops! I also have a 65mm f3.5 Elmar for Visoflex 3 which I forgot about......[blush]......for the sake of neatness I should have put it in the empty cubby-hole...

Thanks for sharing your matrix of lenses, initially I was confused in following your descriptions.

Standard practice for describing rows and columns-

“a column arranges data vertically from top to bottom, while a row arranges data horizontally from left to right.”

While this thread is in the M10 forum section, the OP asked for pics of all camera gear, not just M gear.  Just saying.

In past discussions of members’ owned M gear, some cited collections of up to 70 M lenses, as I recall.  That would be worth seeing.  My 4 M lenses, 2 Monochroms and an M10-R aren’t worth the picture effort or forum space…small kit, easily identifiable… but sufficient for my M needs.  An SL2 and 2 zooms cover the rest.

"...Once Upon a Time..."......I actually knew that!......[blush]......

Thank you, dugby, for clarifying matters and I do appreciate your reminding me of the distinction.

:)

Jeff if I recall,  there was a member here that mentioned he had over 300 M lenses in his collection.

just last month a collection here in Toronto estimated Value of over 2million dollars was sold for an undisclosed amount.

What a great kit. Optimised lens trio, two bodies, digital and analogue. Circumspect and sophisticated.

Oh, OK - I just figured the first 9 lenses were enough for a single post. ;)

For completeness, this is the camera that photographed the others, and has replaced my ancient and massive Canon 5DII and 300mm lens w/1.4 TC.

Fuji XT-2 with one lens 100-300 f/4-5.6 (effective 105-450mm on APS-C). (M10 photo)

This is the rest vvvvvvvvv (XT-2 photo).

L-R: cobbled-together Leica R > Canon EOS > Fuji X adapter, for which I expect to eventually buy a 1980s Leica 180 f/4, 3.4, or 2.8 (effective 270mm on APS-C) to use on the XT-2 above**; Hasselblad Super Wide C/38mm Biogon T* (1971); Sekonic L28c Studio De Luxe meter (ca. 1975); Rolleiflex 2.8F with 80mm Carl Zeiss Planar (ca. 1961); Rolleinar 1 close-up lenses (vintage unknown).

**Just so I can post pix here. ;)
