Autofocus solution to focusing through window screens?

A couple of times I have grabbed my SL2 to get a photo through my window only to have autofocus get caught by the screens on the windows.  Sure, manual focus works, but are there settings for AF that will focus through window screens?  Mine are so thin I forget they are there until I miss a shot....

I clean my windows for that... 95% of the time AF will focus where I want...
Try spot AF  focus setting...
That way there is less chance to catch some dirt on the window and to miss the focus...

Manually focus past the screen and then try AF. If that doesn’t work, manually focus.
