Just got an email notice from LFI magazine saying the new issue had been delayed/embargoed due to a "delayed product launch" - guess the issue covers something new that is about to be released/announced.

Wonder if this will be the rumored M11-P or the SL-3? I'm guessing M11-P but I guess we'll see.

I saw that. I thought it was funny that LFI called out Leica for being late to launch a product.

M11-S? You mean M11-P?

The M11 is like an M11 and an M11-P in one except for the color of the dot and I doubt people will pay a premium for that and for 256 GB of memory instead of 64 GB. The M10-P had brought some real upgrades like touch screen, level gauge and a much quieter shutter. I don’t see Leica releasing a P version of the M11.

So, you think they're going to create an entirely new variant of the M for this reason, and just abandon the highly successful M-P series? Interesting.

If you don't mind telling us, what are you drinking tonight? 😂

There has always been some functional improvement in the M-P variants that made a material difference when using the camera like doubling the buffer in the M-P Typ 240 to 2 GB from 1 GB, for example. I just don’t see that for the M11. It comes with 3 GB of buffer which allows for 4.5 fps in continuous mode. The M10-P can do 5 fps in continuous, the M-P Typ 240 3.

Right. And this will also be the case with the M-11P, there will be as yet revealed functional improvements, surely.

Maybe this version won't freeze or brick! 😂

It has already fallen, have you seen the secondary market prices on the M11? I’ve seen them go for as low as $6900.

That’s close to the M10-P used prices. My dealer told me there is huge demand for used M10/-Ps. People are clamoring for a rangefinder that they can focus at shutter speeds of 1/f and not have to bump up the ISO.
